(Minghui.org) At a practitioners’ event on the Plaza de Candelaria in Tenerife, Spain, on November 21, 2025, many residents and tourists learned about Falun Dafa and signed a petition calling for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafas.

Tenerife, the largest and most-populous of the Canary Islands, attracts over five million tourists a year with its stunning volcanic landscapes, beaches, and year-round pleasant climate, earning it the nickname “Island of Eternal Spring.” Located in the center of the city where the pedestrian streets meet, the Plaza de Candelaria is especially busy during the Christmas season.
Practitioners set up display boards on the plaza and told people about Falun Dafa, a traditional cultivation practice. They explained that practitioners follow Falun Dafa’s guiding principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They also told people about the CCP’s persecution that has gone on for 26 years.
Many people stopped to find out more. They were surprised and disturbed when they learned about the atrocities the CCP is carrying out againt innocent people. Some took pictures of the exhibition, while many expressed their support for practitioners’ efforts and signed the petition. Several people were interested in learning Falun Dafa.

Carmen stopped to watch as practitioners did the exercises. She said, “These exercises make you feel calm and peaceful. They’re great!” She couldn’t understand the persecution and said it was irrational.
A city government official condemns the CCP’s human rights violations.
A city government official from La Palma asked a practitioner for more information even though he was on his way to catch a flight. After hearing some facts about the persecution, he said, “I’ll find out more about it. Any democratic government and person with sense of justice should try to stop the Chinese Communist Party’s human rights violations.” He signed the petition and left his email address so he could receive more information.
A tourist signed the petition and took pictures of the display boards and practitioners as they did the exercises. He said that he would follow the news about the persecution and hopes practitioners are soon freed from the CCP’s dictatorship.

A woman told practitioners, “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance will guide mankind to a bright future. What the Chinese Communist Party does just proves how evil it is, because whatever suppresses the good must be evil.”
