(Minghui.org) A 73-year-old widow in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province is in detention again for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.

An officer from the Yingze Police Station went to Ms. Xia Yilin’s home on March 19, 2025, and deceived her into going with him to the police station. She was taken into custody as soon as she arrived.

The police revealed that they saw the solemn declaration that Ms. Xia published on Minghui.org to nullify the statements she made under pressure during her previous detentions to denounce Falun Gong. They demanded to know who helped her submit her declaration to Minghui.org online. She refused to answer and was transferred to the Taiyuan City Fourth Detention Center at around 7 p.m. the next day.

The detention center allowed Ms. Xia to call her daughter, who lives outside of China. She said that she was found to have elevated blood pressure during the required physical examination, yet the police still had her admitted to the detention center.

Ms. Xia’s daughter is calling for her immediate release. Prior to this latest persecution episode, Ms. Xia served three prison terms totaling 11.5 years. She completed her third 4.5-year prison term on December 22, 2024, only to be arrested again on March 19, 2025.
