It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that a Yingkou City, Liaoning Province resident passed away in 2015, after enduring years of persecution for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been targeted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Cui Xiaoqing was arrested on November 4, 2002, after she was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing materials in Gaizhou City. The arresting officers from the Yangyun Village Police Station held her at the Gaizhou City Detention Center. Gaizhou is under the jurisdiction of Yingkou.
Because Ms. Cui refused to reveal her name, the detention center guards slapped her in the face. She and other detained practitioners held a hunger strike to protest and were force-fed by the detention center doctor Yang Jingxu. Her teeth were knocked out and her gums kept bleeding. Yang also beat her and forced her to wear heavy shackles. He threatened to kill her and other practitioners if they still refused to disclose their names.
After over 50 days of detention, Ms. Cui was transferred to a lockup. The police promised to release her, but five days later they took her to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City in the same province to serve a two-year term.
At the fourth team in division two, the guards didn’t allow Ms. Cui to sleep for seven days and arranged inmates to slander Falun Gong in front of her around the clock. She was in a delirious state and unable to walk due to fatigue.
After Ms. Cui was later transferred to a regular cell, the guards forced her to stand for long hours at night and slapped her in the face, causing her to bleed in the mouth. Sometimes they tied her up by the wrists, with her feet off the ground. She was later moved to the fifth team in division two.
At the end of 2003, in a coordinated effort to transform all practitioners in the labor camp who refused to renounce Falun Gong, the guards gathered them in a building for intensified persecution.
Ms. Cui was held in a dark room and forced to stand all day long. The inmates watched her around the clock in three shifts. She was deprived of sleep for over ten days and again bombarded with propaganda smearing Falun Gong. As soon as she closed her eyes, the inmates hit her about the eyes. They also followed her when she used the restroom. She was only given one piece of steamed corn bun each day. Due to the abuse, she began to vomit blood and had dangerously high blood pressure. Only then did the guard take her back to the regular cell.
Due to long term standing, her legs and feet were severely swollen. The swelling continued until the end of her term. She had a hard time maintaining her balance while standing and had frequent falls. The guards sometimes tied her up and tortured her. Her mind went blank and she was in and out of consciousness during the torture sessions.
The guards arranged for a former practitioner who had turned against Falun Gong to “work on” Ms. Cui. She slapped Ms. Cui in the face until she became exhausted herself. Ms. Cui’s face became red and swollen.
Ms. Cui was later transferred to the third team in division two, where she was forced to work without pay for the remainder of her term.
As soon as Ms. Cui was released at the end of 2004, the police harassed her at home and ordered her to sign a statement to renounce Falun Gong. The police harassed her again in 2008 and December 2009, forcibly taking photos of her and ordering her to sign the renouncing statement.
Ms. Cui’s husband succumbed to the mental pressure from the constant harassment and passed away in 2009. Yet the police returned to harass her again shortly after. She passed away in 2015.
