(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Toronto, Canada held a series of activities including group exercises, rallies, and a banner display in Queen’s Park in front of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario Building on Friday, April 24, 2025, to commemorate the 26th anniversary of the April 25 Appeal. They also condemned the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 26-year-long persecution. Multiple dignitaries spoke during the rally to support Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) and condemn the CCP’s brutality.

April 25 Appeal Is a Milestone

Ms. Sheng Xue, Global Vice President of the Democratic Front, addresses the rally.

“Twenty-six years ago today, perhaps many people did not realize that the moment would change China and even the world,” Ms. Sheng Xue, Global Vice President of the Democratic Front, said during the rally. “And here today, there are actually several people who attended that event back then. It has been such a difficult, heroic and magnificent journey along the way.

“Because Falun Gong practitioners started by clarifying the truth against the persecution, they have become the strongest counterattack and the most powerful blow to the CCP since it established its regime, through legal means, in the media, in the community, and especially in the international community.

“Under such brutal persecution, Falun Gong practitioners do not fear, retreat, or stop resisting. Why? The most important reason is that they have faith, and this faith will not be defeated by the evil forces of this secular society and secular politics. And what we are seeing now is that the forces of justice are gathering, and Falun Gong practitioners have played a very important role in this process. So I say that when the CCP regime disintegrates, and when the CCP’s tyranny is ended, Falun Gong practitioners have played the most important role and made the most important contribution. So every one of us is a hero. We are all heroes—in the human world and in human history—who resist evil and tyranny.”

Supporters Address the Rally

Mr. Lai Jianping commends Falun Gong.

Mr. Lai Jianping, a former lawyer in Beijing and independent commentator, said that it was because of the guidance of Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance that the peaceful petition that made a sensation in history was possible. He said, “They hold a belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance in their hearts, so they are conducting peaceful resistance, and they always insist on using peaceful, rational, and non-violent methods in the process of protesting the persecution.”

Ms. Zhang Ke, member of the China Democratic Party Canada Committee, addresses the rally.

“Members of the Democratic Party are here today to attend this Falun Gong rally,” Ms. Zhang Ke said. “Why am I here? Because the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong began with the peaceful appeal by 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners on April 25, 26 years ago. The CCP’s forced organ harvesting started with the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. We are standing here today to support Falun Gong. Falun Gong is just, kind, and beautiful. Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are the principles of Falun Gong practice. Falun Dafa is good!”
