(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zou Liumei and Ms. Wu Chunling’s Trial Scheduled
2. [Xianning County, Guizhou Province] Ms. Xu Yanfei Went Missing
3. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yu Chunyan and Others Arrested or Harassed
4. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yu Shuyun Arrested, Ms. Zhu Weihua’s Home Ransacked
5. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Feipeng Released After Serving a 4.5-Year Term
1. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zou Liumei and Ms. Wu Chunling’s Trial Scheduled
Ms. Zou Liumei and Ms. Wu Chunling were scheduled to appear in the Jinxian County Court at 11 a.m. on April 23, 2025.
2. [Xianning County, Guizhou Province] Ms. Xu Yanfei Went Missing
Ms. Xu Yanfei of Xianning County was arrested by Xianning County Domestic Security officers in May 2024 and was detained for 15 days. To avoid further harassment, she moved back to her hometown, Bijie City, in the same province, and lived with her mother. While taking care of her mother in hospital, she talked to some patients about the persecution of Falun Gong. Afraid of being implicated, her younger sister and brother forced her to move out of her mother’s home. She went missing on April 9, 2025 from her rental place. Local practitioners in Xianning suspect that she might have been arrested.
3. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yu Chunyan and Others Arrested or Harassed
Ms. Yu Chunyan, nearly 70, of Wanbao Residential District, was arrested at home by several officers from Sartu District on April 9, 2025. The officers ransacked her place, seized many of her personal items, and also arrested her guests, three elderly female practitioners. While the three elderly practitioners were released after seven days of detention, Ms. Yu is still being held in a lockup.
That same day, Ms. Guo Min and four practitioners were arrested by Dong’an Police Station officers. One of them, in her 80s, experienced a medical episode during her arrest and was taken to hospital. She was then released on bail. Another practitioner was detained for seven days and released. Ms. Dong and the remaining two, whose names are unknown, are still detained.
Officers from the Sartu District Police Department tried to harass Ms. Yang Guilan on April 11, 2025, at her home. As Ms. Yang, in her late 70s, was not at home, they summoned her daughter to the police department and attempted to force her to sign a statement to renounce Falun Gong on Ms. Yang’s behalf. They threatened her with her children’s education and jobs. She refused to comply.
4. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yu Shuyun Arrested; Ms. Zhu Weihua’s Home Ransacked
Ms. Yu Shuyun, 61, visited Ms. Zhu Weihua around 4:30 p.m. on April 17, 2025. When she was leaving, she was arrested by officers who were staked outside of Ms. Zhu’s apartment. The officers forced Ms. Yu to return to Ms. Zhu’s home. They ransacked the place, seized Falun Gong books and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Yu was later released.
5. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Feipeng Released After Serving a 4.5-Year Term
Mr. Li Feipeng was sentenced to 4.5 years and fined 10,000 yuan on December 1, 2021. He was released on April 14, 2025 after finishing serving the prison term.
