(Minghui.org) I recently read an article on Minghui that emphasizes the production and distribution of local editions of Minghui Weekly. I noticed this problem here. For example, hardly any practitioners give out Minghui Weekly or its local edition in my area – either provincial or city-wide.
Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, once commented on a 2003 Minghui article titled “Expose the Evil Happening Locally to the Local People,”
“Exposing the wicked policemen and bad persons and publicizing their evil deeds is extremely effective at shocking and restraining those irrational, wicked people. At the same time, by clarifying the facts to the people on a local level it most directly exposes, and generates public awareness of, the wicked persecution. It is also a great way to save the people who have been poisoned and deceived by the lies. I hope all Dafa disciples and new students in Mainland China will do this well.”
This reminded me of the importance of distributing truth-clarification materials and exposing the persecution in my local area. Doing so will help people to have a clear understanding of what is going on with the persecution. I think we did not put enough effort into this.
About two months ago, I met a coworker who had known some facts about Dafa already. I explained to her the current situation and how to remain safe during uncertainties through reciting the auspicious phrases of “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” When I talked about the persecution, she was surprised: “I didn’t know the suppression still continues. I thought the environment had relaxed a long time ago.” Seeing her deceived by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party), I explained the regime had never loosened its grip on the persecution – it just went from public campaigns to undercover ones.
This shows the importance of helping people know the basic facts. But many practitioners are not aware of this, and they thought it was unnecessary to distribute these materials. Plus, some are afraid they might be arrested when doing so.
I could be wrong, but the above is what I’ve observed. My understanding is that the thoughts of Falun Dafa disciples carry energy. If many of us consider the materials as unimportant, everyday people could be unwilling to accept them. In fact, it is not easy to explain everything clearly if we run into someone and just say a few words. But by reading a pamphlet, they could get to know the facts thoroughly and be saved. This is better than just getting them to agree to quitting the CCP organizations.
Moreover, we practitioners should cultivate selflessness and be considerate of others. It is wrong to stop clarifying the truth just to protect ourselves. What we do is righteous and the materials we distribute are shining in other dimensions. They are powerful tools for us to help save people instead of being something that puts us at risk of being persecuted. Because of these misunderstandings, however, fewer and fewer practitioners are involved in producing and giving out these materials.
On the other hand, some practitioners in my area have done very well. They placed materials in nice Ziploc bags and gave out different types of pamphlets, depending on the target groups. Before doing so, they also send forth righteous thoughts and ask Master Li for help.
Some practitioners have a lot of good ideas, which may not have been passed onto coordinators in a timely manner due to a lack of communication. Therefore, these practitioners become passive and no longer take the initiative to carry out their ideas. My understanding is that every practitioner in mainland China needs to take responsibility for countering the persecution in their area. So we should always do our best based on the situation and our understandings. Counting on others will not work.
Some practitioners in our region feel that others are not as diligent as they were when the persecution started many years ago. At that time, we worked well, either individually or collectively. Right now, a lot of practitioners feel they are willing to put in the effort. However, without a clear goal and poor coordination, they did not put their ideas into action.
Let’s not wait for others to take the initiative. If we wait, things will not change. We are all practitioners and we all follow Dafa and Master Li. If we have strong righteous thoughts, we can do things better and better.
