Let it be known, that it is with great respect and recognition that we honor the 33rd anniversary of the public introduction of Falun Dafa, a spiritual practice that has positively impacted individuals and communities across the globe, including right here in the great state of Michigan.
Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a peaceful and meditative spiritual discipline rooted in the Buddhist tradition. Centered around the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, Falun Dafa consists of moral teachings, meditation, and four gentle exercises designed to promote mental clarity, physical well-being, and inner peace. Practitioners worldwide hold these values as guiding principles in their daily lives.
First introduced to the public in 1992 by Mr. Li Hongzhi, Falun Dafa rapidly gained widespread recognition throughout China, where millions experienced profound improvements in health and character. By 1998, Chinese government surveys estimated that 70 to 100 million people had taken up the practice. Despite ongoing adversity, Falun Dafa has grown into a global movement, now practiced in over 100 countries by people of all ages and backgrounds.
Falun Dafa was brought to Michigan in 1996, and since then, dedicated volunteers have provided free access to the practice through workshops, public seminars, instructional events, and group exercises in libraries, parks, festivals, and senior centers across the state. Their unwavering commitment to serving others has enriched countless lives and contributed meaningfully to the fabric of our communities.
Therefore, in special tribute, this document is signed and dedicated to honoring Falun Dafa’s 33rd anniversary, recognizing its continued contributions to personal and community well-being, and commending all those who promote and uphold its principles of peace, compassion, and integrity in Michigan and around the world.
