(Minghui.org) I recently ordered a customized machine for work. On the day of installation, Mr. Yang—the boss of the company we’d bought the machine from—arrived with his son and several employees to install it. As they entered the store, he asked, “Are you a Falun Gong practitioner?” I answered, “Yes.”
Prior to this, I’d visited Yang’s factory to inspect the machine and negotiate the price. Our conversation was enjoyable, and as I was leaving, he told me, “I think you are a very sincere person.”
When he arrived to install the machine, he noticed Shen Yun posters, copies of The Epoch Times and flyers for the movie “State Organs” on the table. Instantly, he understood that I practice Falun Gong.
Then Mr. Yang said, “Let me tell you something really amazing.” He began sharing about his son’s girlfriend, whose father, despite being only in his fifties, didn’t work. He spent his days eating, drinking, and gambling, wore his hair long, with his beard reaching his waist. His son never dared to admit what his future father-in-law was really like.
However, later on, the father of the son’s girlfriend started practicing Falun Gong, and experienced a remarkable transformation. He became self-disciplined, responsible, and his character improved significantly. Mr. Yang was astonished and said to me, “A person’s character can change almost 180 degrees. How can Falun Gong have such power? It’s truly amazing!” I was deeply moved by this, and realized that as we cultivate among everyday people, our words and actions validate the Fa.
I go to the market every day to buy groceries, and I’m very familiar with some of the shopkeepers. Whenever I pay, they often tell me to keep the small change. However, I always insist on paying the full amount.
They say, “Other people are always fussy about money and ask me for the small change, but you insist on paying it. You're really different from others.”
Sometimes customers have left valuables in our store, like cell phones and purses. When they call us after searching for a long time, getting their belongings back is always such a relief. I often use these opportunities to clarify the truth and tell them about the principles of Dafa that I follow. At work, I always put others first. I try my best to accommodate and meet customer’s needs.
I recall an employee telling me that he had held many jobs and had numerous bosses since retiring from the military in his fifties, but he thought I was the best.
Cultivation is a serious matter. We should always be mindful of our words and actions, and take all opportunities to validate Dafa.
