(Minghui.org) From the cold spring in February to the scorching summer of July, 2025, Falun Dafa practitioners from Germany and Switzerland set up a truth-clarification booth at the ferry terminal and the Marktstätte Square in the center of Konstanz every other Saturday. The practitioners tell residents and tourists how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) imprisons and brutally tortures Falun Gong practitioners, and harvests their organs while they are still alive. This persecution has gone on for 26 years.
Konstanz is the largest city on Lake Constance (Bodensee in German) and also southernmost university town in Germany. Taking a stroll through this ancient city, you can easily get to Switzerland. Its stunning lakeside scenery and well-preserved historical sites attract over a million tourists every year, and the largest number of foreign visitors are, of course, Swiss nationals who “stroll” across the border.
Konstanz is located on Lake Constance, the largest lake in Central Europe. This university town in southern Germany and beautiful Lake Constance attract over a million tourists each year.
Many people pass by the ferry terminal and the Marktstätte Square in the center of Konstanz, and they can see practitioners’ white tent from afar. The banner that hangs from the side of the tent, displays a shocking picture and a clear message, “The CCP Harvests Falun Dafa Practitioners’ Organs While They Are Still Alive.” The message on the banner on the front of the tent writes, “Please Sign the Petition to Support the Ending of the Atrocity of Forced Organ Harvesting of Falun Dafa Practitioners in China.”
Falun Dafa practitioners from Germany and Switzerland hold activities near the Ferry Terminal and the Marktstätte Square in Konstanz every other Saturday to tell residents and tourists about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa.
Many visitors stop to read the display board that exposes the CCP’s harvesting Falun Dafa practitioners’ organs while they are still alive.
“Forced organ harvesting, this is too bloody and too cruel.” “Unreasonable, how can there be someone who can do such things?” “Such brutality, this totally should not have happened!” Many passers-by felt alarmed and went near the tent, read in detail or talk with the practitioners distributing materials. They learned more about the practice and immediately sign the petition calling for this atrocity to be stopped.

Beginning in 2006 after the CCP’s forced organ harvesting was exposed, Canada’s former senior Member of Parliament David Kilgour, and international human rights lawyer David Matas carried out an independent investigation. They cited the CCP’s official statements and published data, and adopted 52 methods of comparison and verification of evidence, they concluded that the CCP’s forced organ harvesting of Falun Dafa practitioners is real, and called it “an evil unprecedented on this planet.”
In 2019, the China Tribunal, chaired by Sir Geoffrey Nice KC, concluded after more than a year of investigation that the CCP is guilty of forced organ harvesting. The tribunal also stated, that in the long-standing practice of forced organ harvesting in the People’s Republic of China, Falun Dafa practitioners were indeed one of the sources of organs, and very likely the primary source.
In 2024, the first known survivor of forced organ harvesting described his experience and testified to the reality and brutality of the CCP’s forced organ harvesting.
“The Persecution of Falun Dafa Should Not Happen”
“I never understood why such peaceful people are being persecuted,” said psychotherapist Claudia Dennig. She said she'd seen Falun Dafa practitioners in a parade in the U.S. on television. “In the past, I often heard that Falun Dafa practitioners were persecuted. Today I found out that the CCP takes the large number of Falun Dafa practitioners as a threat. Hearing their sufferings, even to the extent of having their organs harvested, makes me feel that the CCP is so inhumane. The persecution of Falun Dafa should not happen. I hope that my signature can help stop such deeds.”
Albana Hnoll, a Konstanz resident, signed the petition and said, “This [persecution of Falun Dafa] is a disaster. Why are they persecuting such peaceful people? This definitely needs to be prohibited and cannot be tolerated. Not only is it a mental torture, it is even taking their lives away from them. They also have their family, their husband, wife and children. It’s too cruel. This is really saddening.”
Hnoll continued, “I hope that such things will never exist again. This kind of brutal torture is too horrible. They should be prohibited no matter what. The perpetrators should be punished. They totally should not exist. This is harming them [Falun Dafa practitioners] mentally and physically. It cannot be tolerated.”
“The Chinese Communist Regime Is Utterly Evil”
“I am particularly horrified by the thought that someone could arbitrarily harvest my organ and cause me to lose my life. I don’t know where my organs will end up,” said Sabine Schönfeld, a learning disability physical therapist, who owns a clinic. “I am furious at such disrespect for human nature. This is really outrageous! No one has the right to treat another person this way and there is no reason for them to do so. For a regime to act this way, I think it is utterly evil. It is important to stop the CCP’s persecution of people.”
Remzije Kajtazi, an assistant teacher from Switzerland, also thought that the forced organ harvesting was intolerable, “This is so frightening. They [Falun Dafa practitioners] also have children and are the children of other people and the parents of others. This is intolerable! This is an inhumane crime that should not happen in this world! I hope that this can be stopped.”
Although this was the first time that he heard about Falun Dafa practitioners being subjected to forced organ harvesting, Jakob, a college student majoring in business administration, was very clear, “I think that if China treats one group this way, they will also treat other people the same way. We must support each other because otherwise, it could happen to us.”
A practitioner told him that, “In China there are frequent unexplained disappearances of children and university students. Despite the CCP’s comprehensive surveillance, why can’t any trace of these missing individuals be found? Some have suggested that they are likely forced organ harvesting victims. Even in hospitals, some people, who are rendered brain dead, are being made to donate their organs. Some petitioners have also been subjected to the same torture that have been inflicted on Falun Dafa practitioners by the CCP’s police.”
“The Persecution of Falun Dafa Is an Unimaginable Tragedy”
Speaking of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa, law student Eva said, “This is really shocking. Especially because this [practicing Falun Dafa] actually improves oneself in a positive way. Perhaps there are many people want to improve themselves and seek out this practice. Yet, these practitioners go through such danger and endure such hatred. I think that this [persecution of Falun Dafa] is an unimaginable tragedy.”
This was the first time some people heard of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa. They also wanted to find out what Falun Dafa is all about especially when they learned that the victims of forced organ harvesting are primarily practitioners.
