(Minghui.org) I was fortunate to begin practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. After I watched the video of Master’s lectures I miraculously recovered from my heart disease. Soon after that, my illnesses such as tracheitis disappeared. I was illness free and I felt light and relaxed. I’m now 77 years old. After I began practicing Falun Dafa I no longer needed to take medicine. Falun Dafa gave me a second chance at life.
In July 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched its wild persecution campaign. Because I refused to stop practicing my company laid me off. I could only do odd jobs to make a living. I’d like to tell you about some of my experiences.
“I Believe Everything You Say”
In 2000, I found a job taking care of a critically ill patient who was in his 80s. The first day I came to their home his wife who was also in her 80s, was washing her husband’s dirty blanket. I immediately helped her wash it. The patient’s wife did not have good eyesight and the blanket was covered with feces. As a Dafa practitioner, I had to do well, so I treated these two elderly people as my family. The patient’s lower body was red, swollen, damp and dirty because he was bedridden for many years. He was in great pain. I carefully washed him every day and he recovered within a few days. The couple was very satisfied.
The patient used to be a town government official and was heavily influenced by CCP culture and poisoned by atheism. He also believed the rumors and propaganda about Falun Dafa broadcast on television. His wife and daughter were both practitioners, but he refused to listen to them when they tried to clarify the truth to him. He was very stubborn. Practitioners’ compassionate behavior opened the old man’s heart. When I talked about the goodness of Dafa and my miraculous experience of having all my illnesses resolved shortly after I began practicing, he finally listened and said sincerely, “I believe everything you say.”
The patient and his family were very satisfied with my work and they wanted to give me a pay rise. I refused because I am a practitioner. I felt I should be paid the amount we initially agreed on.
“Where Can You Find Such Good People”
The following experience also happened in 2000. I worked at a nursery and the principal wanted me to manage the food and buy supplies for the canteen. As a Falun Dafa practitioner I knew I needed to do well.
I did not care about self-interest—I just worked hard. After buying vegetables, the shop owner offered to deliver them and not charge extra, and told me to keep the delivery fee for myself. I replied, “I cannot do this as I should only spend the amount I should spend.” When I bought a bottle of soy sauce, the shop owner wanted to give me a discount but I said no. When I bought rice and noodles I rode a bicycle and carried them upstairs, instead of hiring someone, in order to help the principal save the delivery fee. After I returned from the market and counted the money, I found the amount was five yuan short. I used my own money to make up for it. The next day, the person who was selling vegetables saw me and said, “I owe you 5 yuan.” She gave me the money.
The principal never checked the transaction records. I later learned that she asked the vegetable vendors their opinion of me. They said, “Where can you find such good people who do not want money when it’s offered to them?”
The principal’s father was in the late stage of gastric cancer, which returned two years after he underwent surgery. I asked him to recite “Falun Dafa is Good, Truthfulness- Compassion-Forbearance is Good.” He did not believe me and said there were some Falun Dafa practitioners in his village who were his childhood friends. He did not believe anything they said. So I told him about the goodness of Dafa and how I used to have very poor health and was plagued by many illness but I fully recovered after practicing Dafa. The principal also told the man how upright I was at work. He finally believed Falun Dafa was good and even watched Master’s lecture videos. When his body ached, he meditated and said, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” This helped ease his hardship.
I later had to quit due to some reasons and the principal said, “Please help me find a Falun Dafa practitioner to replace you because practitioners are trustworthy.” The principal was in charge of a construction site but did not let her own brother manage the finances. Instead, she asked her cousin, who practiced Falun Dafa, to manage the money.
I was sentenced to three years of forced labor because I hung banners with the words: “Falun Dafa is Good.” After I was released, I met practitioner, An Ping, who worked at the nursery. She said, “The principal went out of town to open a company. She returned a few days ago and was looking for you. Her father’s stomach cancer recurred and it was said it was especially painful. Most patients rely on demerol pain relievers but her father insisted on reciting, “Falun Dafa is Good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good.” He did not suffer much and passed away peacefully. So the principal is especially thankful to you and would like to buy you a meal.” I replied, “We are Falun Dafa practitioners and this is what we should do.”
