(Minghui.org) I was held in a detention center in 2023. I clarified the truth to everyone I met there and encouraged them to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated youth organizations. I believed that everyone I meet had come to listen to the truth and be saved.
Every newcomer was in low spirits. I looked after them and guided them. When they felt better, I told them about the causal relationship of retribution and told them that people should do good deeds and be kind to other people and then they would be blessed. I also said that people accumulate karma if they gain things through improper means, and that they must pay back the debt if they created karma. They all listened to me and accepted what I said.
Eighteen-year-old Ling (alias) came in one day for drug trafficking. She also took drugs herself and was strong-minded. She liked to argue with other people, and she was also outspoken and liked to stand up for justice. She had heard of Falun Gong but didn’t know exactly what Falun Gong was. Out of curiosity, she talked to me about Falun Gong. I said, “Falun Gong is good and righteous. Falun Gong practitioners cultivate themselves according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. They become good and kind people. Many people have come to learn Falun Gong. Out of jealousy, Jiang Zemin launched a political campaign to frame, suppress, and slander Falun Gong. The Tiananmen self-immolation incident was staged by Jiang’s regime to frame Falun Gong. Falun Gong practitioners believe killing is wrong. How could a Falun Gong practitioner possibly commit suicide?”
She had a three-year-old son who was taken care of by her mother. She didn’t look after him at all. I told her not to take drugs after she was released and find a job and bring up her son.
When I smiled at her, she would say, “Be kind, be honest, and be a kind person.” She said that she would forget “forbearance.” I said, “Yeah, you don’t practice forbearance. You always argue with other people. Going forward, you must practice forbearance.”
One day some inmates laughed at her when she said something. She didn’t refute them. Later on, several other inmates mocked her. She told me that other people were ridiculing her. I said, “Don’t listen. Don’t think too much. Take it lightly. Let it go. People just laugh. They are not serious.” She didn’t argue with them. She said, “I practiced forbearance this time. I just let them laugh.” I commended her. She improved.
One morning, she said, “Auntie, I want to learn Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I want to accumulate some virtue for my mother and son. My father died because I had done too many bad things and might have caused his death. He was a good father. I began drifting around society when I was 13. My parents worried about me so much. I have done many bad things and witnessed many things. I was cheated by others. Now I want to accumulate some virtue for my mother and son. I don’t want to do anything for myself. I have done too many bad things. If I meet with retribution, let it be. I want to learn Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance now.” I said, “Very good! When you have this sincere thought, your life is shining in other dimensions.” I asked her if she wanted to learn the poems from Hong Yin written by my Master. She said yes.
That afternoon after dinner when we were washing dishes together, I taught her to memorize the poem “An Upright Person”. She memorized it for a while and asked me to write it down so that it was easier for her. I told her that it was not appropriate to write it down in such an environment.
We chatted a bit after we finished washing the dishes. The cell door opened. Ling’s name was shouted. She was asked to pack up and go home. She was surprised and couldn’t believe it. Several days ago during her hearing, the prosecutor had said that she would be sentenced to 13 or 14 months. She never expected that she would be freed without any prison term. I knew that she had been blessed because she believed in Falun Dafa. I said to her, “You are blessed because you believe in Falun Dafa.”
I regarded the newcomers, despite the reasons they came into the detention center, as people who were predestined with Falun Dafa. They came to learn the facts about Falun Dafa from me. Their knowing sides wanted to obtain the Fa. I took every opportunity to talk to them and clarify the truth to them. I told them to remember the two phrases “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” Most of the inmates in the cells that I stayed in believed what I said and withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. When some of them got sick and felt unwell they recited the two phrases. They told me that the two phrases worked when they recited them sincerely.
I practiced the meditation exercise almost every day in the cell, though I practiced the other four sets of exercises less. They walked quietly or talked in low voices during that time. I sweat a lot when doing the exercises in summer. They used a piece of paper to fan me. They came near me quietly to check if there were mosquitoes when I was doing the meditation. I was very touched by their actions. If I was on duty, they would replace me at 6 p.m so that I could send forth righteous thoughts. They would remind me at 6 p.m. when I was having dinner.
We got along very well in the cell, as if we were a big family. If anyone had some hardship, everyone would help. We celebrated everyone’s birthday with boiled eggs and instant noodles. The guard said, “You are very harmonious. Everything goes well in your cell.” The inmates were blessed by Falun Dafa.
I clarified the truth to the guards when they interrogated me. Some listened to me while others didn’t. I told them that it was their choice but I offered the opportunity for them to listen to the facts about Falun Dafa. One day a guard asked me to sign a court summons. I refused. He later came with the chief guard and asked me to sign the court summons again. I said, “I have been wronged. I didn’t commit any crime. If I sign it, it means that I admit I have committed a crime. It would not be good for you if I signed it. When Falun Dafa is vindicated in the future, you would be held responsible; I do not want to harm you. You’d better tell them that I refuse to sign.” They left.
On the day I was to be released, the inmates were quite sad. I said to them, “When you are in danger or have hardships, please remember to recite the two phrases. We were predestined to be together during this time. You came to the earth for the Fa. You must cherish this opportunity. Please let the newcomers know the two phrases.” They saw me off with tears.
