(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the 166th Belchertown Fair from September 19 to 21, 2025.
Located approximately ten miles from Massachusetts’ largest state university, Belchertown is known for its picturesque natural beauty and close community. The Belchertown Fair, one of the region’s oldest traditions, draws families together to celebrate agriculture and local heritage. The fair features rides and games, farm animals and other livestock exhibits, live music, balloon art, and a variety of foods, creating a festive atmosphere. Woodcarving demonstrations and horse-drawn carriage rides offer a firsthand glimpse into rural life.
Practitioners had a booth where they demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises and talked to people about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong). Many people signed a petition in support of the Falun Gong Protection Act. One woman said she hopes the United States will not be exploited by the CCP.
Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the 166th Belchertown Fair, outside of Springfield, Massachusetts.
After a parade on Saturday, many people came over to the Falun Dafa booth to learn more about the practice.
Some people still were not aware that the CCP harvests organs from incacerated practitioners. Nor did they know that the CCP uses the judicial system and media in the US and other countries in an effort to further the persecution of Falun Gong and Shen Yun Performing Arts, a classical Chinese dance company that showcases traditional Chinese culture before communism. After hearing about the situation, most people signed a petition in support of the Falun Gong Protection Act, legislation in the US Congress that would impose sanctions on individuals involved in the CCP’s forced organ harvesting.
A professor from the University of Massachusetts told practitioners, “I understand what you are doing. I have some understanding of Chinese society. My wife is Chinese.” As he spoke, he took some flyers to show his wife.
An older Western woman said that she was hosting a high school student from China in her home and she wanted to give him some materials to read. Practitioners gave her two copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and information about the persecution. She said she would also donate some of the materials to a nearby library.
Linda stopped at the Falun Dafa booth and said she’d just returned from South Africa, where the CCP is destroying the environment and plundering African mineral resources. “The CCP is very bad. I hope the United States will not be exploited by the CCP.”
Fairgoer Tina said this was the first time she’d heard about the CCP’s live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners or that the regime has extended the persecution of Falun Gong to other countries. After listening to a practitioner’s explanation, Tina gave the practitioner a hug, saying she believed her 100% and thanked her for helping her understand that the CCP is not a good thing. She said she hopes practitioners participate in the event again next year.
