(Minghui.org) A woman in Yilong County, Sichuan Province, was sentenced to one year and three months for her faith in Falun Gong, Minghui.org learned recently.
Ms. Guo Qun, around 50, was arrested around September 2024 and convicted by the Yilong County Court at an unknown time. She is being held in the Jialing District Supervision Center in Nanchong City, which oversees Yilong County.
Ms. Guo likely was released on bail soon after her arrest but taken back into custody around May 2025 as new information indicated that she still has about eight months left on her term.
Ms. Guo is not the first Falun Gong practitioner in the greater Nanchong region who has been sentenced for their faith. Below are nine other confirmed sentencing cases.
Ms. Zhao Changbi was sentenced to three years by an unknown court in Nanchong City. She completed her term around December 2024.
The Shunqing District Court in Nanchong City convicted at least four practitioners. Ms. Deng Guojun was sentenced to one year. She completed her term on January 22, 2025. Ms. Chen Ping, who was sentenced to two years, completed her term on March 14, 2025. Ms. Liu Junhua also received two years and completed her term on March 16, 2025. Ms. Gao Zhijun, who was given three years, completed her term on September 20, 2025.
The Jialing District Court in Nanchong City convicted four practitioners on March 31, 2023. Ms. Cao Yunqing was handed down a 16-month probation term, which she completed on January 20, 2024. Ms. Hu Guoxiu was given two years. She completed her term on March 11, 2025. Ms. Ling Junhui, who was sentenced to 3.5 years, and Ms. Li Yuhua, who was sentenced to three years, both completed their terms on March 19, 2025.
Besides the sentencing cases, Ms. Huang Dagui, a resident of Guang’an City in Sichuan Province, was arrested in Nanchong on September 3, 2025, while distributing Falun Gong materials there. She was tried in the Shunqing District Court on December 16, 2025. She is awaiting a verdict.
