(Minghui.org) The Ohio Falun Dafa Association was invited to participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day (MLK Day) open house event held at the Ohio History Center, in Columbus, Ohio on January 19, 2026.
The Ohio History Center is the headquarters of the Ohio History Connection, formerly the Ohio Historical Society, a statewide history organization with the mission to spark discovery of Ohio’s stories.
The MLK Day was a community event for the general public, suitable for families, and included music, performances, art exhibitions, and telling people about the history of civil rights in the US. The Falun Dafa Association’s exhibition not only showcased the peacefulness and merits of Falun Dafa in a comprehensive way, but also resonated with people from all walks of life regarding justice and conscience, especially on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a day that symbolizes human rights and freedom. A coordinator for a human rights organization said he hoped to learn more about the persecution and looked forward to opportunities in the future to expose the Chinese Communist Party’s human rights violations.

Falun Dafa practitioners introduced the cultivation practice, which is based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, to community members and their booth attracted many people. They were very interested in the free Falun Dafa exercise classes offered by local practitioners.
A photographer from Ohio Media said he was impressed by the practice and invited practitioners to introduce Falun Dafa at an event organized by his company.
A coordinator from United for Human Rights had an in-depth conversation with practitioners, and learned that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) brutally persecuted practitioners for more than two decades, especially the inhumane atrocity of the forced organ harvesting. The coordinator said that he hopes to learn more about the persecution and looks forward to opportunities in the future to expose the CCP’s human rights abuses to the public.
