(Minghui.org) Ms. Sui Guanghua’s family was never given any official updates on her case status after she was arrested on June 19, 2025, for practicing Falun Gong. They only managed to find out recently that she had been put in jail.
Ms. Sui Guanghua and her husband when they were young
Ms. Sui, of Pingdu City, Shandong Province, was taken to the Qingdao City First Detention Center (located in Pudong Town, Jimo District) the day after her arrest. She stood trial on October 16. Because she had become very weak during her detention, she had to be supported by two guards to walk into the courtroom.
As the family never received any official notice regarding her case, they recently went to the local police station that arrested her to inquire about her situation. They were directed to talk to the detention center, which notified them that Ms. Sui had been transferred to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison (located in the capital city of Jinan).
The family called the prison and a guard confirmed Ms. Sui was there. He also said the family should have received a notice of her prison admission. They didn’t. He refused to tell them how long Ms. Sui’s prison term was.
Ms. Sui’s husband, who is bedridden, was devastated by her latest (and fourth) arrest for her faith in Falun Gong. Their daughter couldn’t believe that her mother, in frail health, was jailed again, having previously served two labor camp terms and a prison term totaling five years (see the related reports for details).
