(Minghui.org) A man in Tianjin was recently sentenced to two years and ten months because he practices Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Guo Jia was arrested at his home on September 3, 2025, by eight officers from the Quanxing Road Police Station and the Domestic Security Office. His Falun Gong books and many other personal items were confiscated. He was held at the Wuqing District Detention Center. He was later indicted by prosecutor Yan Fuqiang of the Wuqing District Procuratorate.
Mr. Guo appeared in the Wuqing District Court on November 24, 2025. He entered a not guilty plea for himself. He received the verdict on December 30, that he had been sentenced to two years and ten months, and he was fined 12,000 yuan. Judges Tang Jinjin, Li Shuo and Li Jianbin, as well as their assistant Zhang Xiyue, and court clerk Liu Chunxiu, signed the verdict.
Mr. Guo has appealed with the Tianjin Intermediate Court.
