(Minghui.org) The Vietnam Banh Mi Festival 2026 was held at Shinjuku Central Park’s Fun More Time Plaza in Tokyo on September 26 and 27, 2026.

Falun Gong practitioners displayed informational boards in Japanese and Vietnamese near the festival venue to introduce Falun Gong (a mind-body cultivation practice from China) and to raise awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) ongoing persecution of the practice.

Japanese People Condemn the Persecution

Local resident Mr. Komasaki attended the festival and read the information about Falun Gong and the persecution. He said, “I didn’t know much about Falun Gong, but I feel that this is a serious issue. I will learn more about the situation by scanning the QR code on this flyer.”

Mr. Endō criticized the CCP’s act of using power to suppress the people. He said that unjust suppression of people by authoritarian politics should not be allowed.

Mr. Suzuki said he knew that Falun Gong was persecuted in China, but he wasn’t surprised, considering the CCP’s long-standing one-party dictatorship and continuous human rights violations.

Ms. Kashimura (Minghui.org)

Ms. Kashimura said, “Hopefully this situation will change soon. Isn’t there an issue of organ trafficking in China? I think that’s something that absolutely should not be done. It is unacceptable from a humanitarian perspective. It’s so cruel that people are subjected to this kind of persecution.

“I hope they can avoid being harmed and they can live in a society where they can practice [their belief]. I hope the whole society gradually realizes this issue, takes action, and we help each other.”

Tourists From Other Countries Voice Support

Mundo Cortez from Mexico, who works at a newspaper, read a flyer about the persecution and remarked, “This is very sad. I hope every nation’s government can face up to and address this issue. The issue of the forced organ harvesting has continued for a long time, so I very much hope that all countries take action. In our country and in the media, I have seen some news about this. So I think your event is outstanding. I hope the G7 will face up to this issue.”

Nadav Boosteny from Israel talked to a practitioner and learned that Falun Gong is taught for free and that practicing it helps relax the body and mind. He said he was interested in learning more.

He was surprised to hear how practitioners are persecuted in China, and said he hadn’t heard about this before, nor about the forced organ harvesting, “I feel very sad hearing that this tragic situation has continued to today.”

Mr. Boosteny commended the practitioners’ actions: “This truly is a meaningful and outstanding event. I hope more people talk with you.”

Justin from the United States affirmed, “I support you.” He said he’s heard about the persecution of Falun Gong, but believes it important to continue informing the public about the human rights abuses in China: “This is great, I completely agree. Please make sure to keep going.”

Mr. Tsai (Minghui.org)

Mr. Tsai from Taiwan said, “Falun Gong practitioners don’t harm anyone. They don’t do anything bad. They are all kind people. It is truly pitiful that they are being persecuted. Falun Gong is practiced in Taiwan, as well as Japan, South Korea, Europe, and other free countries in the world. Only the CCP does not allow them to practice and suppresses them. This is clearly not normal.”

Ms. Mei from Vietnam added, “One can become a better person and more patient by following [Falun Gong’s principles of] Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance in daily life.”

Mr. Phạm from Vietnam said, “I understand now. I’ve heard you introduce Falun Gong before and I’ve also seen the Shen Yun performance in Tokyo.”
