(Minghui.org) Minghui.org previously reported on the intensified persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Cangzhou City, Hebei Province, in recent months under the directive of Wang Lujin, secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the Hebei Provincial Party Committee. He launched a campaign to “crack down on organized crime and gangs,” with the main target being Falun Gong practitioners on the government's blacklist.

This report details the latest around of persecution of practitioners in Langfang City and its subordinate counties and towns in Hebei Province, including 42 confirmed arrests and some known harassment cases. One of the practitioners died days after being harassed at home.

Yongqing County: 10 Harassed, 5 Arrested

Three officers from the Houyi Police Station showed up at Ms. Wang Xiuhua’s home at around 9 p.m. on August 16. When they saw a wall decoration reading “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” they attempted to rip it off. Ms. Wang’s husband stopped them.

One officer demanded to see Ms. Wang, and her husband said she was not feeling well. As they were talking, another officer sneaked into her bedroom and took pictures of her.

Having been persecuted for years for her faith, Ms. Wang was traumatized by the latest harassment episode. After the police left, her condition worsened, and her husband had to called in an ambulance that night. She died days later.

A uniformed officer and a plainclothes officer showed up at Ms. Wu Chunying’s home around 3 p.m. on August 26. They attempted to take pictures of her, and she walked out of her home. A third officer who had been waiting outside then took pictures of her.

Ms. Zhang Suzhi and Ms. Liu Fengru were arrested at an unknown time, while talking to people about Falun Gong at a fair. They were held at the Yongqing County Police Station before being released in the afternoon. Prior to the arrest, Ms. Liu was harassed on August 11 while she was cooking lunch. An officer broke in and whipped out his cell phone to take pictures of her. She stopped him. He then ordered her to rip off her couplets with Falun Gong messages written on it. She refused to comply. He then left.

Ms. Zheng Shuyun and two other practitioners whose names are unknown were arrested on September 2, while talking to people about Falun Gong at a fair.

Four officers from the Liuxiang Police Station harassed Ms. Liu Yali at home on September 10. They claimed to be conducting a welfare check, but instead photographed and videotaped her.

The head of the Liujiachang Village showed up at Mr. Zhao Guiqin’s home on the night of September 14, but failed to take pictures of him.

The Liujie Police Station and the Qutou Village committee agents harassed Ms. Zhang Qiuzhi, Ms. Wang Shuangfeng, Ms. Zhang Boling, and Ms. Jia Sufen on September 15. Two days later the police forced Mr. Liu Fengling’s son to call him and urge him to renounce Falun Gong.

Bazhou City: 23 Arrested

Ms. Yu Xiulan and her 17 guests were studying Falun Gong books at her home at around 3 p.m. on September 15, when the police broke in and arrested them.

The Nanmeng Town Police Station agents showed up at the homes of seven female practitioners, all in their 70s or 80s, on September 15. They arrested five of them. The other two were spared due to health reasons. Three of the arrested practitioners were released that night. A fourth practitioner, surnamed Wu, was released the next day. The fifth practitioner, Ms. Feng Yanyun, in her 70s, remains at a local lockup.

Langfang City: 7 Arrested

Ms. Zhou Yulian was home at around 9 a.m. on September 2 when two officers from the Nanjianta Police Station broke in. They claimed that a surveillance camera captured her distributing Falun Gong materials. They showed their IDs before raiding her home and later taking her to the police station. She was released at around 7:00 that evening.

Ms. Chen Jianying, 54, was arrested and had her home raided on September 16, by officer Xu and his subordinates from the Jinqiao Police Station. They confiscated two sets of Falun Gong books, numerous truth-clarification pamphlets, a banner reading “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” hanging in her home, a portrait of Falun Gong’s founder, an incense burner, several sticks of incense, a computer, three laptops, and other valuables. She is currently held in the Langfang City Detention Center.

Ms. Chao Dongmei was arrested on the night of September 16 after a patrol officer reported her for distributing Falun Gong materials near a supermarket. She was given six days of administrative detention and released on the morning of September 23.

Ms. Chen Xueqin, 68, was arrested on September 20, after the police identified her as the woman seen in surveillance videos distributing Falun Gong materials. She was given five days of administrative detention.

Ms. Zhang Xiangrong was visiting Ms. Xing Fengxian on the morning of September 21, when 5-6 officers suddenly pushed open the door, which had been left ajar. Ms. Xing passed out and was not arrested. The police raided her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, printer, and banknotes printed with Falun Gong messages. They then took Ms. Zhang away.

A 66-year-old woman whose name is unknown was deceived into reporting to the Qiaoxi Police Station on September 22. She was arrested upon arrival and given ten days of administrative detention at the Langfang City Lockup.

Ms. Chen Shuyuan’s supervisor at work led six officers to her home at around 5 p.m. on September 29 and arrested her.

Sanhe City: 4 Arrested, 10+ Harassed

Ms. Ren Chunxia was arrested at around 3 p.m. on August 22, after a plainclothes officer spotted her talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Dongcheng Police Station. The police summoned her husband there and promised to release her if he agreed to let them “take a look at his home and turn in his wife’s Falun Gong books.” Two hours later, the police raided the couple’s home and seized Falun Gong books, portraits of Falun Gong founder, computer, and printer.

Ms. Ren was transferred to another police station at 2 a.m. on August 23. The police promised to release her if her husband signed the required paperwork. He did, only to see his wife taken to the Fuhe Hospital for a physical exam. She was then put in the Gaogezhuang Detention Center without his knowledge. He was not given any number to call or allowed to visit her.

Mr. Li Jianxin was arrested by the Dongcheng Police Station agents on August 28 and released on September 12.

Ms. Liu Fengying was arrested on August 28, after being reported for distributing Falun Gong materials in an apartment complex. The Shunlu Police Station officers handcuffed her and seized her house key. They took her to her home. She and her family managed to stop the police from seizing her Falun Gong books. The police left without taking her away. She was summoned to the police station a few days later and given ten days of detention.

Mr. Wang Zhanqing was arrested at work in mid-September 2026 and is currently held at the Sanhe City Detention Center.

Over ten practitioners were harassed since August, including Mr. Ma Weishan, Mr. Rong Haijun, Ms. Bai Yanxia, Ms. Zhao Shuying, and Ms. Xiao Zhenqin.

Xianghe County: 3 Arrested

Ms. Cao Jin’e was arrested in late July 2026, and her friends suspect she had been taken back into custody to serve a 3.5-year term given in 2021. She had been allowed to serve time outside of prison due to health reasons, but the police made multiple attempts to put her in jail. Most recently around May 1, 2026, seven officers broke into her home to measure her blood pressure. She was found to have high blood pressure and denied admission to the local detention center. Two months later her friends lost contact with her, and they still don’t know where she’s being detained.

Ms. An Shuqin and a woman practitioner whose name is unknown were arrested in early September by the Xianghe County Police Department officers. Ms. An has been released, but the other practitioner remains detained.

Beiwang Town: 36 Harassed

Thirty-six practitioners were harassed between September 5 and 13, including Ms. Cui Shuli, Ms. Fan Jin’ai, Ms. Wei Cai’e, Mr. Yu Huanwen, Mr. Wang Wenfang, Ms. Zhao Yurong, Mr. Cao Ruitang, Ms. Hou Lianfen, Ms. Lyu Xiumei, Ms. Zhu Qiyun, Ms. Tan Yuhua, Ms. Tao Jinxia, Ms. Qu Sucun, Ms. Zheng Tingxiang, Mr. Sun Xiangyang, Ms. Shi Junzhen, Mr. Zhang Xiukun, Mr. Zhang Zhendong, Mr. Zhang Zhiyu, Ms. Tao Huifen, Mr. Chen Shuting, Ms. Li Guangfeng, Ms. Zhang Guiling, Ms. Sun Wenxiu, Mr. Zhao Xixia, Mr. Li Shuhua, Ms. Chen Shuyun, Ms. Dong Hongyan, Ms. Ge Jingfen, Ms. Wang Hongling, Ms. Gao Fulan, Ms. Zhang Yonghong, Mr. Zhang Hongjun, Ms. Liu Shuyun, Mr. Liu Changliang, and Mr. Gao Fujun.

Guxian Village: 1 Harassed

On the morning of September 10, Lang Guoqiang, the security chief of Guxian Village, showed up at Ms. Shi Yuru’s orchard and attempted to take pictures of her. She stopped him.
