(Minghui.org) After witnessing the miracle that occurred when my husband began practicing Falun Dafa in 2002, I decided to start practicing as well. Compassionate and great Master Li saved both me and my husband.
My husband contracted tuberculosis in 2000. His lungs became fibrotic, and he was unable to work. By 2002, he was bedridden and unable to get up; he couldn’t sleep at night and struggled to breathe, often gasping for air until his face turned purple.
Eventually, he could no longer even lie down. For three months, he had to remain in a seated position day and night, propped up in bed. He couldn’t tilt his head; if he did, blood would flow from his mouth. He was clearly on the verge of death, and since the hospital would no longer treat him, he was simply waiting for the end at home.
Seeing him suffer like that was agonizing—it felt like a knife twisting in my heart—and I often wept in secret. Whenever anyone asked about his condition, I would burst into tears.
One day, a neighbor said, “Why don’t you have him practice Falun Dafa?”
I replied, “With the persecution so rampant right now, who would dare to practice? And who would teach him?” The neighbor said she knew someone who practiced and would go find her.
A few days later, a practitioner came to visit. She asked my husband, “Do you want to practice Falun Dafa?” He said he did.
The practitioner said, “You are critically ill and should give it some more thought.” Before she left, she spoke to us about the wonderful nature of Dafa.
A week later, she returned and asked my husband, “Have you decided to practice?”
He answered firmly, “Yes!”
The practitioner said, “Since you cannot get out of bed, let me teach you the fifth exercise first.” She then began teaching my husband the sitting meditation. I learned along with him. The practitioner demonstrated it twice—my husband didn’t quite master it, but I did, with the intent to help him learn it later.
The practitioner told my husband, “Once you’ve mastered the fifth exercise and want to learn exercises one through four, please come to my home.”
Hearing this, I said, “He can’t even get out of bed. How can he go to your home to learn?”
She continued addressing my husband, “If you can make it to my home, I will teach you the exercises.” He replied, “Sure!”
A few days later, my husband had mastered the fifth exercise and said, “I want to go to the practitioner’s home to learn the standing exercises.”
With that, he got out of bed and started walking. I went along to accompany him. At first, my husband moved slowly, holding onto the wall for support; he would walk five steps and rest, walk another five steps and rest, then walk 10 steps and rest. Proceeding in this manner, it took him a full hour to reach the fellow practitioner’s home. She welcomed us warmly and taught us exercises one through four.
After we finished the standing exercises, despite being in good health, I felt quite unwell, experiencing both diarrhea and vomiting. At the time, I hadn’t studied the Fa well, and my level of understanding was low; I failed to realize that Master was purifying my body or even that he was looking after me.
I told my husband, “I don’t think I can practice this; it’s too much of an ordeal. You go ahead and practice! But I can still teach you the movements.” Although I had learned them, he hadn’t quite mastered them.
By this point, the bleeding from my husband’s mouth had stopped, his body felt lighter, and he had the strength to walk briskly; we made it home in just over 10 minutes.
After three months of studying the Fa and practicing the exercises, my husband’s health improved dramatically; he was able to lie down to sleep and go out for walks. Seeing these changes, I felt from the bottom of my heart that the practice was truly wonderful and encouraged him to keep going.
By April, he had learned all five exercises and by August, he was able to walk over five kilometers to attend an experience-sharing conference. He told me that, on the way there, the uneven footing caused jarring sensations which made his lungs and stomach hurt. Halfway through, he felt like giving up and turning back. But then he thought, “I’ve already walked halfway—why stop now with just another two and a half kilometers to go? I’ll keep going!” With that thought, his legs regained their strength, his gait steadied, and his fatigue vanished.
The return journey was even easier; he came home while chatting with other practitioners. Afterward, he told me, “I could walk another five kilometers and still not feel tired.” From then on, his health continued to improve until he was just like a normal, healthy person.
Seeing my husband in such high spirits put my mind at ease. Having witnessed the miraculous power and beauty of Dafa firsthand, I firmly committed myself to practicing it, and our two daughters also began to practice.
Throughout my cultivation journey, Master has protected me at every moment. One day in 2008, my husband and I were driving an ox-drawn cart to haul wheat stalks; we had loaded a massive, towering stack, and I was sitting right at the top. On the way back, the cart hit a bump and jolted, sending me tumbling off the top and crashing to the ground, where I lost consciousness.
My husband kept calling out to me, urging me, “We have Master—quickly ask him to save you!” He later told me that while I was unconscious, I had called out “Master” three times.
It was nearly half an hour before I regained consciousness. When I opened my eyes, I saw many relatives gathered around me. Seeing that I had woken up, they all breathed a sigh of relief. They then insisted on calling an ambulance to take me to a hospital.
I exclaimed, “I’m not going to the hospital; I’m fine! I want to go home!” They tried to help me onto the ox-drawn cart, but I said, “No need, I can do it myself.” I walked slowly over to the cart and climbed on. Only then did I notice a large pool of blood on the ground: my head was split open, and my clothes were covered in blood.
Back home, my head was still bleeding, and I was vomiting green fluid. My family was frightened and urged me to go to a hospital, but I told them, “I practice Falun Dafa, so I’ll be fine—don’t worry or be afraid.” With that, I sent them home.
I sat down and began doing the fifth exercise with my husband. As I practiced, the bleeding stopped, the pain vanished, and I felt a wonderful sense of comfort. I realized that Master had saved me.
My husband said, “This is a good thing; a karmic debt has been repaid.” He had seen a vision with his celestial eye of a woman carrying a bag and coming to collect a debt.
My sister-in-law was worried after she got home, so she called to check on me. As soon as I answered, she said, “Sister-in-law, are you better? I was thinking about coming over to see you.”
I replied, “I’m fine now—don’t worry. There’s no need to come over. Everyone is busy with the wheat harvest.”
When the villagers saw how badly I had fallen yet refused to go to the hospital, they were baffled. Some even said, “How could you possibly recover without going to a hospital? I don’t believe it!”
A few days later, they were astonished to see me fully recovered and back in the fields doing farm work. One neighbor remarked, “It’s truly unimaginable—to recover from such a severe fall without medical intervention. This Dafa is simply miraculous!”
By witnessing the changes in me and my husband, our friends, relatives, and neighbors have come to believe in the goodness of Dafa. Some even help me share the truth about the practice with others.
The villagers now embrace Dafa and even protect me behind the scenes. When the police came to harass me, they deliberately misdirected the officers so they could not find me.
It is Master who has protected us through all the trials and tribulations we have faced along the way. Thank you, compassionate and great Master! Thank you for saving our lives! I will continue to steadfastly believe in Dafa and follow you home!
