(Minghui.org) Greetings, Master! Greetings, fellow practitioners!

I have practiced Falun Dafa since before 1999, and I was a university instructor before I retired. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Dafa in July 1999, other practitioners and I went to Beijing several times to seek justice for Dafa and Master Li (founder of the practice). The last time I went to Beijing, I was illegally detained and sent to a forced labor camp.

Since many people have been deceived by the CCP’s lies and are in danger, as a practitioner I have the responsibility to tell them the facts and help Master save them. I would like to tell you how I clarified the truth to my students.

In the Classroom

Most courses have an introduction, which is taught at the beginning of the course. Each time I taught this I prepared very carefully beforehand because this class is the best opportunity for me to tell the truth about Falun Dafa. I frequently used a certain point in the introduction as a starting point, and I interwove some content that I prepared in advance—content that is of interest to students and can help them understand the truth about Falun Dafa.

For example, in the lesson “The Hidden Messages in Water,” I would tell students, “Your appearance reflects your heart; a kind heart is essential if you wish to be attractive.” I would then show them relevant pictures on the big screen. I would also discuss the Baxter effect, suggesting that many things possess a spirit, and I gave concrete examples to emphasize the importance of moral cultivation, before moving on to divinely inspired culture. I used ancient, traditional culture to dispel their modern notions of atheism and evolution. I also talk about the infinite divisibility of matter, highlighting that what is invisible to the eye does not necessarily not exist, and acknowledging the limitations of modern science’s understanding of the universe, including mirages, UFOs, the Bermuda Triangle, and other dimensions; why many ancient physicians possessed special abilities; and the culture of spiritual cultivation, such as “ascension to heaven in broad daylight,” and so on.

The students listened intently and were very interested, as it’s rare for teachers to talk about these topics in class. Sometimes, as I lectured, I would also enter a state where I had no other thoughts—I just focused on speaking. I forgot about cameras and informants (designated students in each class to monitor the teacher’s words and actions and report back to the school).

Finally, I would say, “There’s a superior Buddha School cultivation practice that’s spreading all over the world, but it’s being severely persecuted in mainland China. Do you know what it is?” Then I began to explain the truth about Falun Dafa. I talked about Falun Dafa during two class periods. In the last class, I reserved some time to briefly and concisely cover the rest of the introduction making the transition relatively natural.

This lesson was very important. First, it fully disseminated the truth about Falun Dafa to the entire class, and all the students heard it. Some popular majors have classes with over 130 students. It would be difficult to reach that number if I were to teach in other settings afterward. The students also had a deep impression of it because they all listened attentively and quietly. It would be difficult to find the opportunity to teach like this in subsequent classes.

This also immediately brought me closer to the students. Most of them were very friendly to me, finding me approachable and easygoing, so they were relaxed and trusted me. This laid the foundation for me to clarify the truth and persuade people to renounce their memberships in the CCP Youth League and Young Pioneers in the future.

The academic affairs office at this campus may have found out about this (I don’t know if it was reported by an informant or seen on CCTV), because afterwards people from the academic affairs office would occasionally come to observe my classes. But this didn’t affect my way of clarifying the truth; I continued to do what I was supposed to do. I believe Master is always by my side, and I am doing the most righteous thing in the universe, and I’m doing what Master asked. Moreover, I only talked about this in the first class of this course. By the time they realized what was happening and came to my class, I had already finished explaining the content.

I’ve been clarifying the truth like this for many years. I’ve come to realize that as long as I did the right thing and my thoughts were in accordance with the Fa, Master would help me, and there would be less interference.

Telling People About Falun Dafa During School Breaks

After I established a foundation for clarifying the truth in the classroom, it wasn’t so difficult to do this in other settings. I brought a stack of Falun Dafa truth-clarification amulets to school. During a break, I asked a few students around me if they wanted some. They said yes, and when other students saw them, they all rushed over and grabbed them. They were all gone in no time. Sometimes I print out a few truth-clarification leaflets and show them to individual students during breaks, then I collect them back.

One student wanted to read Zhuan Falun, so I brought him a pocket-sized copy and gave it to him quietly during break. He took it back to his hometown during the holidays, and when he returned to school he brought me local specialties as a token of his gratitude. This shows that he knew Falun Dafa is good, and he trusted me.

During breaks, I tried to suggest that students withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, and the students usually spread the word amongst themselves. Once, during a break, a student from another class came to my classroom and asked me to help him withdraw from the CCP organizations. I asked him, “How did you know?” He said, “Other classmates told me.” I helped him withdraw from the CCP organizations.

During breaks, they often approached me to chat. One student said to me, “I went to Taiwan on vacation and took some photos of Falun Dafa practitioners meditating in Liberty Square in Taipei. When I returned, the photos were discovered when I went through customs and I was detained for hours.”

One student said she dreamed that she had been reincarnated as a female knight-errant, and so on. I realized that people today truly have a past, have all come for the Fa, and are all waiting to be saved. Throughout history, they have paid a great price to obtain the Fa, and I must do my best to save them.

Lunch Break

I usually had classes both in the morning and afternoon, so I wouldn’t go home for lunch. The school had a special lounge for teachers, but I rarely went there. At that time, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party had just been published, and it was time to encourage people to renounce their memberships in the CCP and its affiliated organizations. I wanted to use my lunch break to go to the girls’ dormitory and talk about it.

I had a clear plan in mind about which classes I would teach, and on which days, how many girls were in each dormitory, and which dormitory I would visit each time, trying not to miss any. I told them beforehand, “I’ll be visiting your dorm for lunch today, sorry to bother you.” They were happy to have a face-to-face conversation with me, and I said, “You can ask me if you have any questions about your studies.” I then took the opportunity to ask them to renounce their memberships in the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Some of them were very righteous and said that what I said made a lot of sense. They immediately called their classmates at other universities and asked them to renounce their memberships as well.

Sometimes I helped them with their studies. I also had to manage my time well, and not take up too much of their time, because they have classes in the afternoon and I didn’t want to disturb their rest, plus I have classes myself in the afternoon. Once I had gone to a dormitory, I did not go back. To be honest, I felt very tired, as it’s time-consuming, mentally taxing, and energy-draining. But when I reminded myself that this was my mission and my purpose in this life, I knew I must complete it no matter its difficulty.

I had a rather impatient nature; I always tried to do things quickly, and I’m eager for quick results. I spent all my time thinking about how to clarify the truth and persuade people to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, which made my Fa study less focused. When I clarified the truth in the dormitories and it went smoothly, I became impatient and wanted to cover all the girls’ dormitories as soon as possible. So later when I talked to them, I wasn’t as attentive as I was at the beginning, and I didn’t explain things as clearly. I tried to persuade them to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, which made me impatient and not focused on the Fa. In these cases I had already strayed from the state of a cultivator without even realizing it, and I even sometimes forgot to send forth righteous thoughts beforehand.

After clarifying the truth in the dormitory once, a student reported me to the school. The school then stopped allowing me to attend classes on that campus, and transferred me to another campus. This meant I could no longer clarify the truth in the student dormitories. I realized that only by studying the Fa well, cultivating myself well, and always being on the side of Dafa could I avoid being exploited by the old forces, better save people, and fulfill my mission.

In the days that followed, I continued to tell students the truth in different environments and in different ways, non-stop. With Dafa in my heart, I acted with even greater rationality and wisdom.

Inviting Students Home

I told the students, “You can come to my house whenever you have time, and I’ll treat you to a meal.” Some students came alone, while others came in groups of five or six, or even seven or eight. Once, a girl came, and I showed her the Minghui.org website. She said, “Teacher, thank you for telling me this.”

A group of students came to visit one Sunday. I cooked for them, making pork rib soup, braised fish, and a few other dishes. They were very happy, feeling right at home and completely at ease. One student scooped some soup from a pressure cooker (with some leftover pork rib soup in it), and brought it to my lips, saying, “Teacher, have some soup.” It was like being with family; it was very heartwarming.

After the meal, I prepared some fruit for them. One student said, “I’m so happy today, I want to eat a lot of apples.” The other students laughed and said, “Let’s see how many you can eat!” He ate three apples in one go. Finally, amidst laughter and chatter, they all withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

Sometimes they would come in a group, and since I didn’t have time to cook, I made dumplings for them. We would chat as we made them, and I would tell them the truth about the CCP. Sometimes I would invite them to eat at a small, privately owned restaurant near my home. Prices weren’t high back then; around 100 yuan could buy more than ten dishes, filling the table to the brim. They were very excited, as it was rare to get such delicious food at school. We ate and chatted, and I told them the truth about the CCP and persuaded them to renounce their Party memberships.

After the meal, I watched them return to school. They walked a few steps, then turned back again, reluctant to leave, waving goodbye. I was deeply moved. What a karmic connection I had with these students! They were waiting to fulfill their vows in this way in this life. The people around us are all connected to us by fate; we must be worthy of them, and help them through tribulations so Falun Dafa can save them.

Other Environments

I once ran into one of my students as soon as I entered the school. I persuaded him to renounce his membership in the CCP and its affiliated organizations. He had joined only the Young Pioneers, and he immediately agreed. To my surprise, he immediately raised his hands and shouted, “I’m finally free!” Soon after, I heard from other students that this student was from a rural area and later dropped out of school due to his family’s financial difficulties. Fortunately, I helped him renounce his membership in the CCP in time. Saving lives cannot wait, because you never know if you’ll have another chance.

When we led students to do related experiments in the laboratory, the teachers who taught the theory class needed to explain the experimental content and procedures to them in advance. Then the students do it on their own while the teacher watches from the side. Generally, one teacher is in charge of one laboratory.

During experiments, students sometimes had to wait for the results. In this break, I would tell them the truth (I didn’t just teach my own classes; I also teach students taught by other teachers). Once, I told a girl the truth about the staged Tiananmen self-immolation incident. She understood and immediately turned to other classmates, saying very seriously, “The Tiananmen Self-immolation is fake!” I still remember her expression; it was the look of someone who suddenly learned a shocking secret. Indeed, so many people have been misled by the Tiananmen self-immolation hoax and now hate Falun Dafa. Therefore, this is something we must emphasize when we clarify the truth.

Sometimes, while I was lecturing, many students gathered around to listen. Once, a student taught by another professor reported me to the department, which resulted in lab technicians (instructors who prepare the reagents for the students’ experiments) frequently walking around the door of my lab when I was supervising students’ experiments. We’d smile, we knew each other, and she felt awkward lingering, so she just took a look and left. I knew the department sent her to monitor me, but I wasn’t affected; I continued to speak when necessary. I remained steadfast in my mission.

The department secretary also spoke with me about this, but only briefly mentioned it, mostly talking about trivial family matters. I understand that he was just putting on an act, going through the procedures, because I had clarified the truth to him before.

Almost every year I supervised a group of students working on their graduation theses. While they were conducting experiments, I also told them the truth. At lunchtime at school, I tried to sit with the students and find opportunities to clarify the truth.

Our school also offers adult education, which allows working adults to complete several courses within a concentrated period without leaving their jobs. After they pass the exams, they receive a college diploma. The class advisors for adult education are usually our school’s lab technicians; we all know each other. To improve the class’s pass rate, the class advisors collect money from them and then slip red envelopes to the course instructors, hoping they will be lenient and help the students pass the exams.

My homeroom teacher once handed me an envelope full of money, saying it was a small token of the students’ appreciation, and that he hoped I would take good care of them. I politely declined, and after several rounds of back and forth, I still refused, saying, “I practice Falun Dafa, and I cannot do this; it would be immoral. I will do my best to take care of the students, so please don’t worry.” Knowing I was a practitioner, the homeroom teacher had no choice but to return the money to the students.

Later, when I was teaching them, several class leaders came up to the podium and said to me, “Teacher, it’s so kind of you not to accept our red envelopes, unlike the other teachers.” So I told them the truth about Falun Dafa and helped them withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Because the connection was quite loud, other students in the audience heard it and came up to talk to me one after another. I helped each person who came up to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

Some students even came up to me again, smiling, and said, “Teacher, you need to be careful [because there are cameras in the classroom].” In that atmosphere, I didn’t have time to think about those things. I was only focused on telling them the truth. This was an opportunity to save people, and I couldn’t miss it.

Later, when I talked about the students giving me red envelopes in our teaching and research office, the head of the office said, “If this happens again, you should take the money and give it to the teaching and research group.” I smiled but didn’t answer (they knew I practiced Falun Dafa). I thought to myself, “I won't do anything that doesn’t comply with the Fa.” I couldn’t refuse the calendars the students gave me, so I put them in the teaching and research group's collection.

Over the years, I have told many students the truth about Falun Dafa. Most of them are very innocent and kind. Several years later, I still occasionally kept in touch with some of them. Sometimes when I told them the truth again, they said, “Teacher, you already told us back then.” This showed that the class left a deep impression on them, and the truth about Dafa was deeply imprinted in their minds.

I know deeply that I must study the Fa diligently and immerse myself in it in order to walk the right path in the future, better fulfill my historical mission, and follow Master back to my true and beautiful home in the divine.

Thank you, Master! Thank you, fellow practitioner!
