(Minghui.org) I attended the 7th Falun Gong seminar held by Master in Changchun, which began on April 29, 1994. Afterwards I started practicing Falun Dafa. My brother and I were so lucky that we were able to get a photo with Master. This is an everlasting memory for me. I’ve practiced Falun Dafa for 32 years. Looking back, I would like to thank Master again for his thoughtful arrangement, compassionate salvation and for protecting me. I hope that people understand what Falun Dafa is and are saved.
Traditional Education Laid a Foundation for Me to Obtain the Fa
I was born in the 1970's and grew up in the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) education system. But when I was a small child, I learned a lot of folk stories and traditional culture, which planted seeds in my heart.
My ancestors were peasants. Thanks to their hard work, we acquired a lot of land. But we were persecuted by the CCP after it took power. The CCP confiscated our land, homes, grain and farming equipment. My grandfather was labeled a “rich peasant” and was persecuted. He told me stories of his life during that time, which played an important role for me to later see through the CCP’s evil nature.
For example, the CCP always claimed the landlords exploited peasants. But my grandfather said that he signed contracts with the peasants, including how many hours they worked, what their wages and other remuneration were, what kind of meals they had during the day and what they would get for the holidays. He didn’t exploit them. He always paid them on time and he never short paid them. He said that his family made tofu and yellow rice dough in winter and delivered them to the peasants’ home as contracted. They got along very well. The CCP manufactured conflicts when it came to our village.
He told me a story about the CCP’s Eighth Route Army. When he was a child, there were Japanese kids and Korean kids in the village and he played with them. He was able to speak a few Japanese and Korean words. The Japanese people lived peacefully with the local Chinese people and they borrowed things from each other. It was the CCP’s Eighth Route Army who harmed local people. When people heard that the Eighth Route Army came, young and strong males ran away to escape being dragged off to become CCP soldiers. Sometimes the Eighth Route Army walked through the village for several days in order to give the impression that there were so many CCP soldiers. Actually, this was the same group walking through the village back and forth. They forced young men to join the army.
My grandfather often told me stories of traditional culture and taught me how to behave such as not arguing with people, not obtaining wealth through dishonest means, respecting and caring for elder generations etc... Our three brothers seldom argued. We let others have food first. We didn’t fight with other kids. We were good at academics. This was the result of traditional education.
When the CCP started to persecute Falun Dafa in 1999, I immediately saw through the fake news the CCP fabricated thanks to my childhood education. I was not misled by the lies.
Seeking the Dao in the Maze
When I was in primary school, qigong started to become popular. It laid the path for Falun Dafa to spread. Young people were curious and started to practice martial arts and qigong. I started practicing qigong when I was in year 2 or 3 in primary school. I couldn’t tell which qigong was good and which qigong was fake. But I loved to practice qigong. Sometimes I practiced several forms of qigong. I come from a small county, and no qigong master came to our area to hold a seminar. I mainly read qigong magazines and practiced whatever qigong the magazines promoted. As I grew older, I went to other cities to attend qigong seminars. I practiced fake qigong and experienced the chaotic phenomena that Master mentioned in Zhuan Falun. I didn’t know how dangerous and harmful those qigong were at that time.
One day on my way to school when I was in year four at primary school, I suddenly saw the sky in the northwest open up. A voice asked me which I would choose, wealth, social status or cultivation. I said that I would choose cultivation. I was previously elected the class monitor. After I made this choice, I told my teacher that I didn’t want to be the class monitor. The teacher then asked me to be the academic representative. I also quit that position and became an ordinary student. In middle school, I was subject representative. At university, I didn’t hold any position.
I saw some amazing scenes when I practiced qigong in senior middle school. I occasionally could see the wall calendar opposite my bed when I lay in bed with my eyes closed. I couldn’t eat food which contained onion or garlic. Later, I couldn’t eat meat. I experienced things such as qi staying on top of my head and not coming down, like what Master mentioned in Zhuan Falun. The qi was mainly at my back. I didn’t know it was a result of practicing qigong. In order to cure this “illness,” I took a lot of Chinese herbal medicine. When I was in the second year at senior middle school, I experienced “the placement of the mysterious pass” that Master described in Zhuan Falun. My eyes hurt at that time. I saw a child that was one third of a meter in height in my dantian. I had a tense relationship with my classmates all of a sudden. I didn’t feel close to my family members. Because no one guided me and nothing that I experienced was mentioned in qigong books, I didn’t know what was going on.
After I started practicing Falun Dafa, I finally understood what Master said,
“Without knowing the Fa at high levels, one cannot cultivate. Without cultivating one’s inner self and one’s xinxing, one cannot increase gong. These are the two reasons.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)
It seems like a simple sentence, but it’s a real Heavenly secret. People who haven’t practiced other forms of qigong don’t have such deep understandings. So many cultivators don’t know the Fa and don’t know that they need to cultivate xinxing. They have endured hardships for decades in vain.
Master Arranged It Perfectly
I was accepted by a university in Changchun in 1993. My brother was in the fourth year at that university. We only had shallow knowledge of qigong at that time. We blindly followed those masters who we thought had high qigong abilities or who cured illnesses more effectively.
Two “Oriental Health Expos” were held in Beijing in December 1992 and December 1993. Falun Gong became very popular among qigong practitioners due to its exceptional demonstrations in these two expos. Many people wanted to attend Master’s seminars, including my family members. Many people knew that Master Li, the founder of Falun Gong, was a person with high supernormal abilities and he was from Changchun. My mother repeatedly asked my brother to tell her when Master Li would come back to Changchun to hold the seminar and make sure that he bought tickets. Eventually, he learned that Master would come to Changchun to hold seminars at the end of April. We bought tickets. Every member of my family was looking forward to attending the seminar and listening to Master’s lectures in person.
Master held the 7th Falun Gong seminar in Changchun in April 1994, when I was in the second term of my first year at university. All students of the first year were required to attend the chorus rehearsal in their spare time, so I didn’t have time to attend Master’s seminar. I suddenly developed Bell’s palsy in early April 1994. One side of my face couldn’t move. I couldn’t open and close one of my eyes properly. I couldn’t close my mouth properly. When I drank water, it leaked. I was permitted to take leave. I sought treatments from Western medicine, Chinese medicine, acupuncture, cupping therapy, electronic therapy and qigong. None of them helped.
I suffered a lot from this sudden condition, yet it smoothed the path for me to attend the Falun Gong seminar. Looking back, I realized that Master made the perfect arrangement for me. He purified my body ahead of time and created the condition so that I could attend the seminar.
Many Questions Are Answered
The 7th Falun Gong seminar was held in the Mingfanggong Auditorium at Jinlin University in Changchun from April 29 to May 8, 1994. There were daytime classes and evening classes. About 1,000 people attended each class. Master gave lectures twice a day. He also solved other problems for practitioners.
Many of my family members and relatives were qigong fans. My parents, my brother, two aunties and one uncle attended this seminar. My uncle attended the day classes and other family members attended the evening classes. My brother and I rode bicycles to attend the seminar. My parents, aunties and my father’s colleagues took their company bus to the seminar and returned by the same bus when the seminar finished.
We finally saw Master on April 29. The most prominent feeling I had was that he seemed to be giving lectures only to me and answering my questions. Before this I had too many feelings that I couldn’t share with others because they didn’t understand, and I had too many questions that no one could answer. Master answered all of them.
Master said,
“Many people have practiced qigong for a very long time. There are also people who have never practiced it, but who have pursued and pondered the truth and the meaning of human life. Once they learn our Falun Dafa, they will understand at once many questions in life that they have wished to understand but could not answer. Perhaps along with their minds being elevated, they will become very excited—this is for sure. I know that a genuine cultivator will know its value and cherish it.” (Lecture Eight, Zhuan Falun)
I had the same feeling at that time.
People said that Falun Dafa had amazing healing benefits. It is true. On the third day at the seminar I was able to move my face which had been paralyzed for more than 20 days. I recovered from Bell’s palsy on the seventh day. The only downside was that my face was just a little stiff. I completely recovered several months later.
My mother and aunties suffered from several illnesses. My mother had a serious heart problem. She went into the seminar hall with the help of my auntie on the first day. She felt good after Master cured illnesses for the whole class. On the second day, she walked into the seminar hall by herself and walked upstairs and downstairs all by herself. My aunties also recovered from their illnesses.
I Will Never Forget This Happy Moment
My brother and I didn’t go home with my parents, but went directly to the university after the class finished in the evening on April 30. The following day we wanted to go to the building where the seminar was held because we felt comfortable there. The class hadn’t started when we arrived. The on-site staff practitioners were selling Falun Gong books and Falun Dafa emblems. Master’s daughter, who was a small child then, was helping.
Many practitioners expressed a wish to take photos with Master. He agreed. Photos were taken on the steps outside the Mingfanggong Auditorium at the Jilin University. We stood in the place and left the middle seat for Master. Then we invited Master over. The photographer practitioner then took photos for us.
My brother and I got a bit worried. Other areas had one dozen or two dozen people. But our area only had my brother and me. We summoned up our courage and told the photographer that we had only two people from our area. The practitioner was very kind and asked us to stand there. Then he invited Master over to take a photo with us. We were so lucky! I have kept this precious photo.
There were many valuable memories of the seminar. Many practitioners have already written many stories in this regard, so I won’t write any more here.
I have practiced Falun Dafa for 32 years. Though the CCP’s persecution has lasted for 27 years, the severe suppression, slandering and framing of Falun Dafa have never shaken my determination in practicing Falun Dafa. On the contrary, I feel all the more how precious Falun Dafa is. Falun Dafa is the hope for humanity to enter the future. I hope that more people will recognize the CCP’s lies, come to learn more information about Falun Dafa and choose a beautiful future for themselves.
