(Minghui.org) In July 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched a brutal persecution against Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong). In order to validate the Fa and restore Master’s good name, nine practitioners from our area went to the Appeals Office in Beijing. At the time, a local Beijing resident told us, “Those [police officers] have nothing better to do. Those uniformed and plainclothes officers stomp on people’s toes with their heavy shoes and grind them underfoot. Can you really put up with that? Please go back home.”
When we arrived at the entrance to the Appeals Office, the staff demanded we hand over our ID cards; otherwise, they would refuse to let us in. Realizing the situation was serious, some practitioners turned back. However, the four of us were in agreement: since we had come all this way, we were determined to validate the Fa. We handed over our ID cards and went inside.
Once inside, each of us was given a form and told to write down the reason for our appeal. We each wrote about how good Falun Dafa is. Afterward, we were handed over to the police from our area. We were handcuffed and taken back to the local police station.
The police demanded we sign a statement, promising to stop practicing—they would then allow us to go home. However, if we refused to sign, we would be sent to a detention center. None of us signed. As a result, we were taken to a detention center and detained for 15 days.
The factory where we worked had a loudspeaker, and they called out our names every day. Security personnel also followed us daily, but we were not intimidated. Every day, we used our wisdom to go out and distribute truth-clarification materials. Under Master’s protection, we were never stopped by the authorities.
Persisting in Group Fa Study and Exercises
Group Fa study and group exercises are the forms of cultivation that Master has left for us. Beginning in 2009, local practitioners resumed doing the exercises together, and we have continued ever since. Practitioner Ming volunteered to provide her home as a place for group Fa study and exercises.
Every morning, we began the exercises a little after 3:00 a.m. After sending righteous thoughts at 6:00 a.m., we each returned home for breakfast. At 7:30 a.m., we went out to talk to people about Dafa, help them withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, and distribute truth-clarification materials. In the afternoon, we studied the Fa together.
When the management at the factory found out about this, the union chairman approached us and urged us not to study the Fa together, and then alerted the police. Several police officers arrived at Ming’s home, and when she refused to open the door, they pried it open, bending the bolts in the process. Ming shouted, “Master, save your disciples!” When the police heard her calling out to Master, they left and never returned.
We worked together harmoniously to clarify the truth and help Master save people. Everyone was always cheerful. We went out together and returned together. Each practitioner carried a bag of materials, and sometimes someone pulled a cart loaded with materials. Whenever someone ran out of materials, they would come back and get more.
Every day, we distributed hundreds of items, including CDs, USB drives, amulets, desk calendars, wall calendars, and other materials. People eagerly accepted them. In this way, the truth was spread throughout our local area and the surrounding countryside. We felt fulfilled every day.
The following are some of the stories we encountered while going out to clarify the truth. We are writing them down to share with fellow practitioners, so that we can share in the joy of saving people and experience the sacredness of our cultivation.
“I Finally Got One!”
After distributing the materials, we would run toward the bus station in order to get home promptly. Because some practitioners needed to get home to cook for their families and pick up their children, we always hurried along at a brisk pace.
One time, as we were running, someone began chasing after us and shouting, “Wait for me! I haven’t gotten one yet!” We were focused on catching the bus and did not realize that someone was running after us. By the time we reached the bus station, the person had caught up with us. Out of breath, he said, “I finally caught up with you! Everyone else has one, but I haven’t gotten one!”
I replied, “Sir, I’m sorry. We didn’t hear you. I’m sorry you had to go through all that. Fortunately, we have one left.”
He took the pamphlet, held it against his chest, and said, “I finally got one.”
From this incident, we felt deeply how eagerly sentient beings long to be saved.
The Joy of Those Who Have Been Saved
Those who had received the truth-clarification materials would smile at us and greet us whenever we passed by. Some expressed their concern saying, “Please be careful and stay safe.” Others climbed utility poles to shout, “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” Others shouted, “Long live Falun Gong!” These are the voices from the hearts of sentient beings, as well as their hope for being saved.
Every day, at least four of us went out together, and Ming kept a record of those who withdrew from the Party’s organizations. One day, after we had just helped several people withdraw, a tall elderly man approached us and asked, “Are you specifically helping people withdraw from the CCP?” We confirmed that we were. He said, “I’m a longtime CCP member. Please help me withdraw. My name is Li.” Ming recorded his name and gave him some Dafa materials. He left, visibly pleased.
While this man was talking with us, another person across the way overheard the conversation. He quickly approached and asked, “Did that old man just come to you to withdraw from the CCP?” We confirmed that he did. He said, “That’s really strange. I have poor hearing and rarely talk with others. How did I happen to hear the words ‘withdraw from the CCP?’ It seems this must be Heaven’s will. Please help me withdraw too! I’m also a CCP member, and I have the same surname as that old man.” He took the materials and, as he was leaving, said, “Thank your Master for me.”
There are many stories like this.
There were several migrant workers at a construction site, and one of them shouted, “Leave a whole bag of those treasures you’re carrying! There are more than eighty people here.”
There was also a railway worker who said, “Give me all the CDs. I’ll take them back and let everyone watch them. There are more than 1,000 people where I work.”
There was also a subway worker who looked like a CCP cadre. He was installing glass by the roadside. I stopped and glanced at him, and he politely asked, “What is it that you want?”
I said, “Excuse me. We have something very important to tell you, but we also don’t want to interfere with your work. How about this? I’ll leave these CDs and [truth-clarification] booklets with you. You can watch and read them after work. Please also tell everyone about them. Everyone who has ever joined one of the Communist Party organizations must declare their withdrawal in order to avoid the coming calamity. This is absolutely true, so please take it seriously. The withdrawal is a matter of the heart. You can use an alias, pen name, nickname, or any other name. God looks at people’s hearts.”
He quickly said, “There are 20 CCP members here. Please give them aliases so that they can withdraw. I’ll announce it at our meeting tonight. My name is Xiong.” I immediately came up with the aliases for him. I said, “Thank you for your understanding and support. I wish all of you a wonderful future.”
I will always cherish the memory of those lovely, respectable, and kindhearted people. Each time I recall those wonderful scenes, I find that words can never fully express my gratitude to Master—for entrusting us with such a sacred and magnificent historical mission, compassionately watching over us, and guiding us through this difficult yet sacred period of history. We, Master’s disciples, kneel before him in gratitude for this blessed time he has given us.
The practitioners in our area have been able to maintain faith in Master and the Fa. We help one another and advance diligently together. Through all the trials and hardships, we have continued moving forward steadily under Master’s protection.
All of this has been Master’s painstaking arrangement. We thank Master for helping us fulfill our mission. The disciples are immersed in the happiness of the Buddha’s light.
We will work even harder to do the three things, look inward, cultivate ourselves well, and save more sentient beings.
