(Minghui.org) Greetings, revered Master! Greetings, fellow practitioners!
I am 63 years old and live in Shandong Province in Eastern China. Every day, I travel by bicycle to meet predestined people and tell them the facts about Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) and the persecution of the practice by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). I also encourage people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
With the publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in 2004, I realized that these truth-clarification activities were a matter of utmost urgency. Then, after evidence of state-sanctioned organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners came to light, I didn’t waver at all. Instead, I became even more resolute and dedicated in my face-to-face truth-clarification efforts.
On the occasion of the 23rd China Fahui, I am writing about my cultivation journey to report to Master and share with fellow practitioners.
Paying Attention to Sending Righteous Thoughts
At first, when I went out to talk to people, I felt scared and nervous since I didn’t know how to approach them or what to say. But I was determined to do it. My workplace was three bus stops away from my home. Sometimes after work, I would walk home, distributing truth-clarification materials along the way, while attempting to speak to people.
To calm my heart, I constantly recited Master’s teaching:
“If you are able to succeed in improving yourself this way, what you do then, with a pure heart, will be the best and most sacred.” (“Further Understanding,” Essentials for Further Advancement)
By reading fellow practitioners’ sharing articles each day on the Minghui website, I came to understand that clarifying the truth about Dafa is no ordinary activity; rather, practitioners are using the wisdom and divine power bestowed by Dafa to help save people. Only by cultivating ourselves well and purifying our own dimensional fields can we fulfill the mission of bringing salvation to sentient beings.
Gradually, I became calmer. I also began to pay attention to sending righteous thoughts to eliminate all the evil factors and interference. Little by little, I learned how to approach people.
As the Fa-rectification progresses forward, Dafa practitioners meet more challenges with clarifying the truth and helping to save people. The old methods of sending MMS messages and making voice calls asking people to quit the CCP are no longer available. Cellphones have to be registered with one’s real name and can be monitored, plainclothes police track practitioners, and surveillance cameras and facial recognition technology are widespread.
Master said:
“...Clarifying the facts and saving sentient beings are what you need to accomplish. There is nothing else for you to accomplish...” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2015 New York Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XIII)
Whenever I go out to clarify the facts to people, I constantly send forth righteous thoughts, leaving no opportunity for interference. If the first couple of people I meet reject me, or if I encounter any unexpected situations, I immediately stop and find a relatively quiet place to look inward, then send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all evil beings and factors that are interfering. I ask Master to strengthen me, then continue following Master’s words, and resolutely walking on the path of saving people.
I once met three workers repairing the road. I told them the facts about Dafa and urged them to withdraw from the CCP. While talking, I caught a glimpse of a security patrol officer on a motorcycle less than two meters away. I continued, and all three workers listened to me and agreed to withdraw from the Party and its affiliates. I gave them truth-clarification booklets, then got on my bicycle, and quickly carried on.
But the officer chased after me on his motorcycle. As I was about to reach the construction barrier ahead, I hit the brakes and stopped. I turned to him and asked, “Why are you chasing me?” He responded, “Why are you running away?” I replied, “Because you’re chasing me. Shouldn’t I run?” He said, “Can’t you just give me a booklet?” I said, “Sure.”
I handed him a booklet and told him about Falun Dafa and the three withdrawals. He understood and withdrew from the CCP, Youth League, and Young Pioneers. He happily left with two booklets.
My heart was still pounding from this false alarm. I sat down by the roadside and looked inward to understand what I had done wrong. I figured it out quickly. The previous day, when a fellow practitioner delivered the booklets to me, I noticed there were also a few extra copies of the Nine Commentaries, which I hadn’t asked for. I didn’t say anything to him, but inwardly I complained.
As I hadn’t promptly caught my attachment to complaining and eliminated it, this had caused the interference. I also realized I held resentment toward the police—I had rejected that officer from the bottom of my heart—which was a major flaw. I immediately sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate my attachments and asked Master to strengthen me. Ten minutes later, I went on my way to share the facts about Dafa with more people.
When people agreed to quit the CCP, I usually gave them a truth-clarification booklet and a Dafa amulet so they could learn more when they returned home and remember what they had learned. They could also share this information with their family and friends, allowing more people to learn the truth about Dafa and accruing immeasurable merit for themselves.
Paying Attention to My Thoughts
When going out to talk to people, I pay close attention to my attire and demeanor. I conduct myself with composure, neither subservient nor arrogant, just honestly and uprightly demonstrating the sincerity and kindness of a Falun Dafa practitioner.
One hot afternoon, I rode my bicycle to the river bank and saw a man about my age coming toward me. I took the initiative to approach him and said, “Hello, sir, have you heard about quitting the CCP?” He immediately raised his voice and excitedly pointed at me, “You Falun Gong, when you get sick, you don’t take medicine or go to the hospital. An elderly woman in our neighborhood died that way. You practitioners also distribute leaflets on the sly.”
I smiled at him and sent forth righteous thoughts to thoroughly eliminate all the evil factors blocking him from hearing the facts. After he finished speaking, I said I didn’t agree about practitioners secretly distributing materials. I explained that before I retired, I didn’t have time to hand out materials to people face-to-face, so I went out in the evening because practitioners sincerely want to keep people safe when calamity strikes and Heaven eliminates the CCP. Now I’m retired, and have the time to give out materials face-to-face. I offered for him to look at the materials and he happily selected two booklets.
I then used an analogy to clarify his misunderstanding about practitioners not taking medicine or going to hospital, saying, “I don’t know the specifics of that elderly woman’s situation, so I can’t justify her case. Let’s talk about children in school instead. When children go to school, there are about 50 students in a class, with the same teachers for each class. In exams, some children score perfect marks, some get average marks, and some even fail. Do you think the teachers aren’t doing their jobs well? Can we really look at it that way?”
He was listening intently and immediately agreed, “You make a good point.” So I continued, saying that Dafa’s Master doesn’t forbid anyone from taking medicine or going to the hospital. Instead, he teaches us to be good people by following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance; to be sincere, kind, and tolerant; to contribute positively to society; and to look for our own shortcomings during conflicts.
The man understood completely and quit the Party with his real name.
Speaking Wisely
Once, I talked to a couple at a bus stop about Dafa and encouraged them to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliates. As I was speaking, I noticed a man walking towards us who stopped nearby. I turned to him after I finished my conversation with the couple. He said, “Do you know what I do for a living?” I replied with a smile, “You look like a person in management role.” He said, “I used to be in charge of dealing with Falun Gong in my village committee. How dare you spread Falun Gong? Are you against the government?”
I saw that he was about the same age as me, so I changed the topic and asked if he had any grandchildren. He said he did, so I talked about how nowadays we have to drop kids off at school and personally pick them up for safety reasons, which wasn’t the case when we grew up. I also mentioned all the negative changes, like vegetables and fruit having lost their original pure flavors, and the widespread toxic and synthetic food products on the market. He agreed.
I then brought up the topic of withdrawing from the Party and he agreed. He quit the CCP, the Youth League, and the Young Pioneers. He also accepted the booklet I gave him and selected three more, then walked away happily.
Another time, I was out with a practitioner called May to clarify the truth. While I was talking to someone, May was speaking to other people nearby. After I finished, I saw her talking to two young men, with people beginning to gather around. They were discussing the pension policies and the two young men were upset. I quickly prayed to Master for help, then stood in front of her and explained to the two young men calmly that pension policies were complicated, flawed or not, and not something we could easily reach a conclusion on. Both young men nodded.
I said we just wanted them to learn the truth about Falun Dafa and to receive blessings. Both young men asked, “Is it for our own good?” I replied, “Yes. At our age, what could we possibly gain from you?” I also explained about quitting the CCP. Both acknowledged what I said, withdrew from the Party affiliates they had joined, and thanked me.
Master Protects Me
A fellow practitioner and I went out together one evening to share the facts with people. I was walking two or three meters ahead, looking for people, and didn’t notice a manhole in front of me with its cover lifted. Just as I was about to walk into it, I stepped aside subconsciously and went along the edge of the manhole.
Then, the fellow practitioner called out to me. She was so scared because she had just noticed the uncovered manhole and watched me miraculously walking right along the edge of it. We both realized that Master had protected me.
My eyes welled up with tears and I gave thanks for Master’s compassionate protection!
Conclusion
Looking back on these past years, I learned that studying the Fa well is the prerequisite and the foundation. Only by looking inward and cultivating ourselves well can the words we speak be pure, penetrate directly into the microscopic levels of the people we meet, and eliminate the evil entities behind them. Therefore, daily Fa study, exercise practice, and sending forth righteous thoughts are all indispensable. With these as our foundation, people will acknowledge our words and naturally withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
While speaking to people, I don’t think about anything, and solely focus on saving them, with a pure heart and a peaceful state of mind. Now, not only do I send forth righteous thoughts during this process, but whenever I have spare time as well.
The number of people I meet who renounce the CCP each day ranges from a few to several dozen; the most was 101. In any situation, I do not become elated, do not go through the motions, and do not give up on anyone. People from all different walks of life have renounced the CCP, from intellectuals, government officials, police officers, and college students, to ordinary citizens, street vendors, migrant workers, and even beggars.
I will continue to follow Master’s teachings, look inward earnestly, and cultivate myself with the same dedication as when I began cultivating. I will cherish this sacred destiny, fulfill my prehistoric vow, and follow Master home.
