Vendors in Rural Markets
During the Lunar New Year holiday, markets in rural areas are crowded. I took this opportunity to distribute copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and Falun Dafa informational materials. Each morning, I loaded a small two-wheeled cart with fifty copies of thesebooks and Falun Dafa informational materials, bundled together in resealable bags. I then took the city bus to weekly markets in nearby towns to distribute them. Since I visit these markets regularly, many people already knew me. I approached them openly and offered copies of my information pamphlets.
I knew a man in his eighties who ran a street stall in the marketplace. He believed in the goodness of Falun Dafa and was aware of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecution of practitioners. He had already quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Whenever I visited his stall, he would ask me for several copies of the Nine Commentaries book. His home was near a village recreation center where people from three surrounding villages went to exercise, so he knew a lot of people there. He told them how great the Nine Commentaries were, and many wanted a copy. As a result, the recreation center became a hub for spreading the truth through this book.
A young man at the market who sold clothes became a “living media outlet” after reading the Nine Commentaries. Once he understood the facts, he eagerly helped more people learn about it. He often asked for a lot of copies. He shared them not only with his own family, but also with people in nearby villages. In addition, the young man frequently traveled to remote areas on market days, and distributed thebooks to people in the markets.
I also met a man who had absolute faith in Falun Dafa and its founder Master Li Hongzhi. He said that he hoped Master Li would return to China soon, and that if all Chinese people practiced Falun Dafa, there would be hope for China. He told me that whenever he faced unresolved problem or setbacks, he would ask Master Li for help, and things would work out smoothly every time. He was a very happy fellow. He even pressed his palms together and imitated the rotation of the Falun, saying, “Let everyone in the world practice Falun Dafa!”
At every market, there were several vendors who took five or more copies of the book. I regarded them as “mini information centers” spreading the truth throughout every village, so that all beings may get to know Dafa.
I feel that we do not have much time left for helping people to know Dafa, and all beings are also eagerly awaiting the chance to know the truth. I go to the markets no matter the weather conditions on that day. Although I often feel a huge pressure weighing down on my head, nothing can stop me from going out to help people. If I miss a market, those who are predestined to know Dafa might lose their opportunity. I find joy in going out to be with others, and each day feels meaningful and fulfilling.
A Young Man
A young man named Qiang quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations after learning about its persecution of Falun Dafa. He came to understand that Falun Dafa is good. Almost every day after work, he would stop by my place to sit for a while and learn more about Falun Dafa.
After learning that I had Dafa amulets, Qiang often came to ask for several to share with others. He used them to spread the truth and encourage his relatives, friends and coworkers to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Sometimes he would bring me a list of names of those who had agreed to quit. The number of amulets requested grew from dozens to hundreds. Qiang told me that he was a delivery worker and took advantage of the convenience his job offered to reach more people and help them learn the truth.
Qiang also reached out to students in various schools. Because the supply of Dafa amulets was limited and he was unable to write down everyone’s name, he told the students to complete their CCP withdrawals online. The students who were aware of the truth also spread the word among their peers. Whenever Qiang went to the schools, a crowd would gather around him to receive amulets. Some students even asked for extra amulets for their family and friends.
A Store Owner
I had talked with Huang, a store owner near my home, about Falun Dafa. She was aware of the persecution. She also knew that I had suffered from asthma that the doctors couldn’t cure, but that I eventually recovered through practicing Dafa.
One day, I stopped at Huang’s store and met her brother-in-law Wang, who also worked at the store. He was struggling to breathe and looked very unwell. I immediately recognized that he was having an asthma attack.
I approached Wang and told him that practicing Falun Dafa could help him recover from asthma. I told him that I was living proof of the health benefits of diligent Falun Dafa cultivation practice. He initially hesitated. Then Huang spoke up, “What’s there to be afraid of? If it is good for your health, just go ahead and do it.”
Wang set aside his fear and agreed that he would indeed like to learn more about this great practice. Then we went to another room, where I taught him the Falun Dafa exercises.
