(Minghui.org) In the recent US midterm election, the Democrats won the majority in both the House and the Senate, taking control of Congress for the remaining two years of President Donald Trump’s term.

This election is seen as a setback for the Republican Party and a win for the Democratic Party. Taking a step back, however, one may find that this is not the whole picture. Tang Baiqiao, a Chinese dissident and human rights activist, recently wrote that the biggest winner is not the Democratic Party but the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The Bigger Question

Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, and the leaders of the CCP have a shared goal of eventually dominating the world. “The Internationale must be realized,” says the communist anthem L’Internationale. Trump has worked tirelessly to counter this threat and recently declared the first week of November as Anti-Communism Week. “America will never become a communist country,” he proclaimed.

Preventing communist influence is easier said than done, however. “Once the Democratic Party—thoroughly riddled with infiltration by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)—firmly seizes control of the government, it will only be a matter of time before the CCP ascends to the position of the world’s dominant power, assuming it is not overthrown in the meantime,” Tang wrote. “By then, the Democratic Party—and, by extension, the U.S. government—will have been reduced to a vassal of the CCP.”

Before the recent midterm election, those in positions of power, including members of Congress and the President’s cabinet, still had a chance to turn the tide. Unfortunately, their loss at this crucial juncture included even the Republican Party’s stronghold—Texas.

Why did Trump and the Republican Party lose? It wasn’t due to a lack of effort or funding. Rather, the loss was caused by a lack of public support and an inadequate understanding of the CCP among Americans. This is partially the consequence of decades of education system reforms, and it is deeply entrenched and difficult to reverse.

Do Trump and his team really understand the nature of the CCP? When confronting major decisions, does one rely on one’s own business negotiation skills and ability to manage national affairs, or should one place trust in God and the underlying humanity beyond political battles? This is a serious issue and a matter of life and death, and it requires honest reflection.

Threat Posed by the CCP

History often repeats itself. What’s unfolding today happened decades ago when the CCP defeated the ruling Kuomintang (KMT) to take over China. Yan Xishan (also known as Yen Hsi-shan), former Premier of the Executive Yuan and concurrently Minister of National Defense, analyzed “why the Kuomintang could not defeat the Communist Party” in an August 1949 article.

In his article, Yan summarized eight areas in which the CCP differs from the Kuomintang. “First, the CCP is not a ‘political party’ in the conventional sense, but rather a ‘subversive organization,’” Yan wrote. “Beyond seizing power through violence, the CCP places a heavy emphasis on ‘propaganda’—a form of propaganda that is neither informational nor critical in nature, but rather conspiratorial and inflammatory.”

This gives us a glimpse of how the CCP seized power in China back then and threatens the free world today. As the CCP has heavily infiltrated the Democratic Party, the latter’s victory may actually pave the way for the CCP to achieve world domination.

The situation is serious, but many people are not aware of it. As Tang Baiqiao explains, “What the CCP is best at is first attaching itself to you, and then slowly eating you up, just like cancer cells. This is how the Republic of China under the Kuomintang was overthrown.

“Now they are dealing with all the democratic countries in the world in the same way because they have found the Achilles’ heel of Western democracy: its doors are wide open,” Tang writes. “In the words of Lenin, the founder of communism, the enemy’s fortress is most easily breached from within. And once the CCP controls the US government, it will control the whole world.”

Whether they are Democrats or Republicans, most Americans grew up in the free world. What does the “communist empire” really mean to people in the free world? It is definitely not an “awesome” country experienced by tech giant Elon Musk, nor merely a commercial entity known to the Trump family or other business elites. Those who believe that money equals freedom have misread what the CCP is. The CCP knows this and has taken advantage of it to advance its agenda.

The Underlying Issue

Ancient military strategist Sun Wu once wrote in The Art of War, “Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated.” How can we apply this today?

One angle is covered by Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Published in 2004, this book has thoroughly analyzed the CCP’s history, present, and the threat it poses to humanity. Influenced by the book, over 460 million Chinese people have renounced their current and former memberships in the CCP and its affiliated organizations, including the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers. I believe this book will also help people in the free world to see through the CCP’s nature and choose the right path, for themselves and for our society.

On the other side, we have traditional values. China is a nation with thousands of years of civilization. The CCP was able to seize power and control the country for decades because the regime systematically wiped out traditional culture through campaigns like the Cultural Revolution and replaced it with communist values such as class struggle, hatred, and brutality. Having carried out decades of brainwashing and implemented state-of-the-art surveillance and monitoring systems, the CCP can now easily target any opposing forces even before their germination.

However, the goodness of humanity lies in people’s hearts, for both Westerners and Chinese. This strength of the human spirit can be seen in practitioners of Falun Gong, a meditation system based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, who continue to thrive even after 27 years of persecution by the CCP.

Supporting Falun Gong will help strengthen our commitment to humanity and counter the CCP’s threat at a fundamental level. For example, after three years in Congress, the Falun Gong Protection Act was finally passed by the Senate in September 2026, but more work is needed before it can become law.

The significance of the Falun Gong Protection Act is no less than that of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The latter secures governing authority that benefits the United States on a secular level, while the former goes back to the founding principles of America and thus fundamentally fortifies the free world against impending attacks, for now and for the future.

According to the Book of Exodus, when the Israelites complained about their hunger and missed the food they had in Egypt, God provided manna in the morning and quail in the evening to satisfy their need for meat and bread.

From this story and countless examples in history, we have learned that human capability is finite, even for the most capable and intelligent chosen ones in the world. Our connection to the divine, on the other hand, holds the ultimate answer. The swift passage of the Falun Gong Protection Act by both chambers of Congress and the subsequent presidential signature could be a crucial turning point in bringing about the miracle America needs. This may surprise many, but upon reflection, isn’t it a profound truth?
