(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 36 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Du Yang Faces Trial in Shandong

1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Du Yang Faces Trial in Shandong
Mr. Du Yang was arrested in April 2025, by officers from Zibo City, Shandong Province, after they detected him sending information about Falun Gong from his cell phone. He was taken to Zibo, about 1,100 miles away, and held at the Zhoucun District Detention Center. He was indicted by the Zhoucun District Procuratorate on October 13, 2025, and is now facing trial by the Zhoucun District Court.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gu Fubao Tried
Mr. Gu Fubao was tried by the Daoli District Court around December 5, 2025. The judge appointed a lawyer to enter a guilty plea for him. He is now awaiting the verdict at the Daoli District Detention Center.
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Changzheng Faces Trial
Mr. Wang Changzheng was arrested by Jinyinhu Police Station officers on April 1, 2025. He was first given 15 days of administrative detention at Jinghe Lockup, then placed under criminal detention by the Dongxihu District Police Department. The Dongxihu District Procuratorate approved his arrest on April 30, and forwarded his case to the Hanyang District Procuratorate in mid-July 2025. The Hanyang District Court initially scheduled a hearing for his case on January 22, 2026, but canceled it due to a request from his lawyer. It’s not clear whether a new court date has been set.
4. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Jianhua Detained
Ms. Sun Jianhua was arrested by officers from the Dongguan Police Station on January 23, 2026. The police confiscated several of her Falun Gong books, some cash, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. She was taken to Weifang City Detention Center the next day.
5. [Rongcheng City, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested or Harassed Between January and October 2025, One Still Detained
Zhang Guihua, Tang Funa, and Zhang Honghua were arrested by plainclothes officers on January 15, 2025, while distributing Falun Gong materials at the Madao Town Farmers Market. They were taken to the police station and forced to provide fingerprints, before being released in the evening.
Li Wanyi was arrested in the spring of 2025, after being reported for distributing Falun Gong materials at a farmers market. Li has been detained since then, and the police haven’t provide any update about the case to his or her family.
Two officers drove to Jiang Zhisheng’s home on October 27, 2025, ransacked the place, and confiscated many copies of Falun Gong materials.
6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] More Than 20 Practitioners Arrested
Since January 2026, the Qingdao City Police Department has deployed a large number of police officers to arrest more than 20 practitioners and raid their homes.
In Huangdao District, officers from the Xuejiadao Police Station alone arrested eight practitioners, including Ms. Xue Sufang, Ms. Meng Huiling, Ms. Ma Liangxiang, Chu, Du, and three others whose names are unknown. Most of those arrested were elderly, and some are still detained.
