(Minghui.org) The annual National Multicultural Festival was held in Canberra from February 6 to 8, 2026. Falun Dafa practitioners set up a booth, introduced the practice to visitors, and raised awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution.

This year’s festival featured six stages, more than 250 shows, and over 200 booths featuring food and cultural items. Visitors enjoyed a diverse range of music and dance programs while sampling local specialties. The highlight of the event was the grand parade on February 7, where dozens of groups representing different ethnicities and communities showcased their traditions through song and dance for audiences from across Australia. Among the participants, the Tian Guo Marching Band was especially notable.

Practitioners demonstrated the exercises and performed traditional Chinese dances. Many people learned about Falun Dafa, and some started to learn the exercises.

People Learn the Falun Dafa Exercises

Waswa Kabuye stopped at the booth to learn about Falun Dafa and tried the meditation.

“I learned the meditation, and I really feel so good,” he said. “I’ve been looking for something like this and then I actually found it. I think I’m going to practice this, because I feel this is connecting us with the Creator. It’s really nice. It’s really good.”

Governments Should Work Together to Stop the Persecution

Rebecca White

Rebecca White said she knew a little bit about Falun Dafa: “It’s based on Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Its exercise movements are slow, and they help you find inner peace and be a better person.”

She knew about the CCP’s 26-year-long persecution and said she hopes it stops soon: “I think that we just need to raise more awareness and have more governments worldwide call it out and do something.”

Happy, Calm, and Full of Energy

Mai Nguyen

Falun Dafa practitioner Mai Nguyen, who teaches international students English at a college in Sydney, joined the Tian Guo Marching Band eight years ago. She said she was happy to participate in the cultural festival and tell people about Falun Dafa.

She said that, ever since she started practicing Falun Dafa in Vietnam 11 years ago, “I always feel happy and am full of energy. Whenever there is any trouble or misfortune, I can find balance. I always try to find my shortcomings and mistakes, so things get better.

“The way I view the world, the way I view life, is always through Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. So everything is very positive and life is much easier.”
