(Minghui.org) The owner of a well-known flour factory in Ningjin County, Hebei Province was tried on January 28, 2026, for his faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
In August 2025, the street surveillance cameras in Ningjin County recorded someone putting up Falun Gong posters and riding a motorcycle. The police identified the man as 57-year-old Mr. Yang Zhihua by searching the motorcycle’s license plate registration record.
Officers from the Jinzhou City Police Department, the Mayu Police Station, and the Sizhilan Town Police Station went to Mr. Yang’s home to arrest him on September 6, 2025, but he wasn’t in. They searched his home and confiscated his computer, printer, and Falun Gong books. They also took his wife and son into custody. His wife was later taken to the Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Center, and their son was held at the Mayu Detention Center.
Mr. Yang was tricked into going to the Sizhilan Town Police Station on September 8, and was arrested upon arrival. He was admitted to the Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Center on September 10. His wife and son were released on September 16, 2025.
The Sizhilan Town Police Station later submitted Mr. Yang’s case to the Jinzhou City Procuratorate and he was soon indicted. He appeared in the Jinzhou City Court on January 28, 2026. The judge quickly adjourned the session after going through the required procedure. Mr. Yang is now awaiting a verdict at the detention center.
Mr. Yang started his flour factory in the 1980s. He is well known among locals for his high-quality products and fair prices. At home, he is a loving father and caring husband. When his father-in-law fell critically ill in 2024, he offered to cover his medical expenses and spent much time caring for him. He also took on extra household chores so his wife could spend more time with her father.
