(Minghui.org) An 85-year-old woman in Linshui County, Sichuan Province, was recently sentenced to three years because she practices Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Tang Sulan was arrested on September 11, 2025, and taken to the Huaying City Detention Center. She appeared in the Linshui County Court on November 13, 2025, and on January 28, 2026, before she was sentenced. She is currently held at the Guang’an City Detention Center. Guang’an oversees Linshui.

This is the third time Ms. Tang has been sentenced for practicing Falun Gong.

She was arrested in July 2000 for distributing Falun Gong flyers, and was later sentenced to four years by the Linshui County Court. While serving time at the Yangmahe Prison, she was subjected to physical and mental torture. After her sentence ended, the police held her at a brainwashing center for a month.

Ms. Tang was arrested again on July 25, 2014, while hosting a birthday party at her home. She was sentenced to two and a half years on October 27, 2016.

Ms. Tang’s family was also targeted for not renouncing Falun Gong. Her husband, son, and son-in-law died as a result of the persecution. Her grandson, who did not practice Falun Gong, grew up in fear, witnessing the repeated arrests, harassment, and detention of his parents and other family members. He was under severe mental distress and died when he was only 21.

See the first report below for details about Ms. Tang and her family’s persecution.
