(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Los Angeles gathered at Santa Monica Beach on Sunday, February 15, and extended New Year’s greetings to the founder of the practice, Master Li Hongzhi. Many practitioners shared their personal experiences and how they benefited from the practice.
Accompanied by melodious music they started the day by practicing the exercises. The park is a popular tourist attraction and visitors from various countries learned about Falun Dafa. Some learned the exercises on the spot.
Practitioners gathered at Santa Monica Beach and wished their founder, Master Li Hongzhi, a happy Chinese New Year.

Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) was introduced by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China in May 1992. The practice, which follows the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance quickly spread throughout the world. Consisting of moral guidance and five exercises, many people say that Falun Dafa improved their health and well-being. Ms. Prim Wang, who works for the California government, is one of them.
Amazing Experiences
Ms. Prim Wang began practicing in 1996. “Practicing Falun Dafa benefits a person both physically and mentally. I’m in a positive mood every day.”
Once frail and sickly Ms. Wang frequently visited hospitals. After she began practicing thirty years ago her illnesses disappeared. Ms. Wang said the miraculous effects are not limited to improved physical health. “I’m happy and full of energy. Falun Dafa greatly benefits people.”
One always encounters setbacks and various conflicts. But whenever Ms. Wang encounters such anything unpleasant, “Dafa guides me, and allows me to tolerate and forgive others. When conflicts arise, I try to find my shortcomings and think of how to improve myself instead of complaining, blaming, getting angry or feeling frustrated.
“Whenever I encounter problems, I find that adhering to Falun Dafa’s guiding principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance can help resolve conflicts. It’s something miraculous and is difficult to describe in words.”
On the occasion of the Chinese New Year, Ms. Wang said, “We usually say auspicious words during the New Year, such as wishing you happiness and good health. Practicing Falun Dafa can make these wishes become reality. Cultivation is truly miraculous and wonderful. I sincerely thank Master for giving us the opportunity to experience the beauty and greatness of Falun Dafa. Thank you, Master!”
Practicing Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance
Ms. Xu, a U.S. Navy service member, began practicing Falun Dafa in the United States in 2015, while she was pregnant with her second child. “Practicing the exercises and studying the Fa helped me feel energized each day. I did not vomit or feel uncomfortable during my pregnancy, and I felt cheerful. My good mood was certainly beneficial for my unborn child.” After giving birth, her baby was easy to care for and her severe spinal condition disappeared.
“My soul has found its home. I feel a sense of belonging, both spiritually and emotionally. Before, if things didn’t go my way, I was upset. But after practicing, my mind became calmer and more rational. When faced with difficulties, I think of others. When interacting with family, people at work or in daily life, I apply the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I feel lighter and I’m more principled in my actions.”
Ms. Xu explained that she and her children diligently put into practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance: “When children integrate Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance into their lives, they won’t lose their way despite the various temptations of today’s society. They proactively help others at school, and are willing to share and get along well with others.
“I am incredibly fortunate to have obtained Dafa and am especially grateful to Master Li. Thank you, Master. Happy New Year!”
