(Minghui.org) Mayor Antony Bertola of Llandudno, UK, issued a letter of commendation to Shen Yun Performing Arts on February 16, 2026, in recognition of its extraordinary cultural contribution to the town and the wider UK.

Mayor Antony Bertola of Llandudno was interviewed after seeing Shen Yun on February 14.

After Mayor Bertola saw the first show presented by the Shen Yun Global Company at Venue Cymru on February 14, he said, “It is absolutely superb in terms of choreography, the colors, the costumes, the movements, the fluidity, the orchestra and the combination, the timing of the music, and the way the dancers move.”

Llandudno is one of 12 cities on Shen Yun’s UK tour. Tickets for all three shows in Llandudno were sold out in advance. The mayor encouraged everyone to go see it: “This particular performance tells you about the human nature of people and what they’re capable of doing and how kind you can be to each other, fostering harmony, friendships, and looking after each other."

Mayor Bertola said that Shen Yun is more than just a performance; he described it as thought-provoking: “The sort of feelings it gives you about heaven and earth, and hopefulness and appreciation, and camaraderie and bonding, and good to bad and bad to good. So there’s an emotional context there, which is that we’re here to help each other. I think if people understand each other and have a sensitivity about people’s feelings, it creates a better atmosphere in the world today.”

Letter of Commendation from Mayor Bertola

The letter reads, “On behalf of the people of Llandudno, I am delighted to extend my sincere commendation to Shen Yun Performing Arts in recognition of the extraordinary cultural contribution your company has made to our town and the wider United Kingdom.

“The recent performance brought inspiration and enrichment to residents and visitors alike, offering an experience that was both artistically exceptional and culturally profound. Through the beauty and discipline of classical Chinese dance, accompanied by a unique orchestra blending Eastern and Western musical traditions, Shen Yun presents not only a performance, but a vibrant cultural revival.

For over five thousand years, China nurtured a vibrant spiritual and artistic civilization rooted in harmony between Heaven, Earth, and humanity. Through classical Chinese dance and music, Shen Yun brings this nearly lost heritage back to life, imparting universal values such as kindness, respect, integrity, and hope—values that deeply reflect and enrich the spirit of communities everywhere.”
