(Minghui.org) A significant feature of US President Trump’s foreign policy is directly focused on the threat the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) poses to the world. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio once warned that under the rule of the CCP, China aims, “To become the world’s most powerful nation and to do so at the expense of everyone else.”
As signs of instability appear within the CCP, the Trump administration has adopted a number of measures to draw attention to the regime’s tactics to expand its repressive influence abroad. Secretary Rubio pointed out, “The CCP doesn’t believe in simple principles like religious liberty, the right to free speech, democratic elections. … Their willingness to undermine all of the institutions and the norms of the world to fulfill this ambition is without a doubt the singular geopolitical issue of the 21st century.”
Voice of America interviewed Jan Jekielek, senior editor of The Epoch Times and host of “American Thought Leaders” on February 16, 2026. His book, Killed to Order: China’s Organ Harvesting Industry & the True Nature of America’s Biggest Adversary, scheduled for release in the US in March 2026, summarizes nearly two decades of in-depth investigations by researchers into forced organ harvesting by the CCP. This is the first time Voice of America has conducted an in-depth TV interview on the subject.

Jan Jekielek said that Falun Gong practitioners are the principal source of organ harvesting by the CCP, a group that the regime has targeted for persecution since 1999. According to official estimates, 70-100 million people practiced Falun Gong at that time. To justify the persecution of Falun Gong, the CCP-controlled media carried out a mass propaganda campaign to vilify the practice. This large group of law-abiding citizens, who follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, suddenly became the Chinese regime’s primary target of arrest. It is estimated that tens of millions of people were detained, but because of the difficulty in getting information out of China, the numbers may be higher.
Early on in the persecution, the CCP began to conduct blood tests on Falun Gong practitioners, as well as tissue matching and organ scans. Before the forced organ harvesting crimes were exposed in 2006, online advertisements promoting transplant tourism claimed that one could get a new heart in China for US$150,000 to $200,000.
Jekielek inferred that the methods used in the “981 Project,” a longevity program for China’s elites, include continuous organ transplants.
“My big fear is, if we don’t act on it now, we have the Falun Gong practitioners and Ugyhurs, we are going to be adding perhaps the Tibetans because that’s another vulnerable group and more recently, house church Christians. Recently, a large church – all leaders in the Zion church, were arrested by the CCP. Among them, many are still incarcerated; and we have recent controls on Catholic clergy. Although I don’t know where that leads, but it looks to me like the regime is ramping up its persecution of Christians. I am worried these groups will be added in significant numbers to the ‘killed to order’ doctrine,” Jekielek said.
He believes that organ harvesting by the CCP is a US national security concern. “Because we are dealing with a political power that uses ‘killed to order’ as its common tricks. If I work with the CCP, I must be clear, I am not working with a normal government, I am even not working with a normal dictatorship. I am collaborating with a totalitarian dictatorship.”
US State Department to Launch Website Circumventing Internet Censorship
In February 2026, according to US media reports, the US State Department will launch a new website—Freedom.gov. The website aims to combat internet censorship in countries like China and Iran, assisting people worldwide, and particularly in countries with strict internet surveillance, to access an uncensored internet environment. The project is part of the US foreign policy, a commitment to upholding freedom of speech, and protecting and promoting fundamental freedoms.

The US State Department has completed a new platform known as Freedom.gov. The website is expected to be officially available online within the next several weeks, to bypass internet censorship in repressive countries such as China and Iran, and fulfill the US commitment to upholding freedom of speech.
According to Fox news, the Freedom.gov website will operate as a one-click desktop and mobile application compatible with iOS and Android devices.
To ensure privacy and security, the app is open-source and includes built-in anonymity protections. The application does not log IP addresses, session data, browsing activity, DNS queries or device identifiers that could be used to personally identify users. According to Cybernews, officials are considering adding built-in VPN functionality that would make internet traffic appear to originate from the US.
The initiative is being led by Sarah Rogers, Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy. Rogers said, “Freedom.gov is the latest in a long line of efforts by the State Department to protect and promote fundamental freedoms, both online and offline.”
US Congress Has Focused Attention on CCP’s Forced Organ Harvesting for More Than 10 Years
The Chinese regime’s forced organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience, particularly persecuted Falun Gong practitioners, has been of concern to US elected officials for more than a decade.
When the US Congress held a hearing on “Organ Harvesting of Religious and Political Dissidents by the Chinese Communist Party” on September 12, 2012, Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, Chair of the Investigations and Oversight Subcommittee who chaired the hearing said, “Organ Harvesting is ‘the act of the devil’… This [live organ harvesting] is a crime against humanity and we should do our best to identify those specific individuals who were engaged in this and put them on the list of people who deserve to be brought to justice.”
The China Tribunal, established by the International Coalition to End Transplant Abuse in China (ETAC) to investigate allegations of forced organ harvesting by the CCP, issued a ruling in June 2019. In the final judgment, British lawyer Sir Geoffrey Nice stated: “Forced organ harvesting has been committed for years throughout China on a significant scale and Falun Gong practitioners have been one—and probably the main—source of organ supply.”
During a policy forum titled, “Organ Procurement and Extrajudicial Killing in China,” held at the US Capitol on March 10, 2020, Congressman Chris Smith pointed out that, “Prisoners with spiritual beliefs are ideal organ donors because of their healthy lifestyle. A prison guard witness cited in the China Tribunal report mentioned that illness was the only way one Falun Gong practitioner avoided being selected as a ‘donor.’ Twenty-five healthier practitioners were all killed for their organs.”
The US House of Representatives passed a bipartisan bill (413 to 2) on March 27, 2023 to oppose the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting in China. Known as H.R.1154—Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act of 2023, this is the first bill passed with a bipartisan majority, holding the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) accountable for its crimes of live organ harvesting.
On July 31, 2024, then-US Senator Marco Rubio introduced the Falun Gong Protection Act, which imposes sanctions against individuals involved in forced organ harvesting in China, particularly those who participate in forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners, and asked the Secretary of State to submit a report on the CCP’s organ transplant policies and practices. The bill imposes sanctions on individuals involved in forced organ harvesting, including visa restrictions, entry bans, and freezing of assets.
The US House of Representatives unanimously passed the “Falun Gong Protection Act” on May 5, 2025. Congressman Scott Perry, who proposed the bill, said, “An independent tribunal in the UK reviewed clear evidence of forced organ harvesting by the CCP. Falun Gong practitioners are the primary victims of this barbaric organ harvesting system. The tribunal’s findings are staggering. They concluded that forced organ harvesting has been committed for years on a massive scale, with Falun Gong practitioners as the main source. … The report states the CCP and its leaders have actively incited the persecution, imprisonment murder, torture and humiliation of these individuals solely to eradicate their beliefs. This is not just a violation of human rights, it’s a crime against humanity.”
