(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Xiuqin’s hearing appealing a wrongful sentence for her faith in Falun Gong is scheduled to be heard by the higher court today, February 4, 2026.

Ms. Li, 66, of Dalian City, Liaoning Province, was arrested on June 11, 2025, after the police found Falun Gong materials in her bag. She was taken to the Yaojia Detention Center the next day.

Officers from the Dalian City Railway Police Department and people who managed the property where Ms. Li lived raided her home on June 20, 2025. They confiscated a music player, an amulet, a Falun Gong flyer, an experience-sharing article, and a five-yuan bill with information about Falun Gong printed on it.

Ms. Li was issued a formal arrest warrant on July 18 by the Dalian City Railway Procuratorate. On September 15, prosecutor Tang transferred her case to the Ganjingzi District Procuratorate, which has been designated to handle all Falun Gong cases in the greater Dalian region. She was indicted in mid-October 2025.

Ms. Li appeared in the Ganjingzi District Court on November 13, 2025, and was sentenced to three years and two months with a 20,000-yuan fine. She appealed with the Dalian City Intermediate Court, which scheduled to hear her case on February 4, 2026.
