(Minghui.org) The other day, I ran into an elderly practitioner, Xu, whom I hadn’t seen in a month, and I couldn’t help but be struck by how radiant she looked.
She stood tall, her back straight and neck upright, head held high. Her face glowed with radiant health, and her hair was noticeably darker. Not long before, she had suffered from severe back pain after a fall, forcing her to walk bent over at a 90-degree angle with great difficulty, relying on a walker for support.
Curious about how such a dramatic change had come about, I asked Xu about it. She then began to share with me the reasons behind her remarkable transformation:
“This is all thanks to Master’s compassionate guidance. Previously, other practitioners noticed my hunched posture while walking and advised me to practice more diligently. They emphasized that to achieve good results, I must do the exercises with utmost precision—never bending my back or lowering my head.
“So I exercised twice daily. Yet during the standing exercises, I simply couldn’t keep my back straight or head up. The pain in my lower back was unbearable. After just two or three minutes, it became impossible to continue without bending over. To finish all four sets of moving exercises, I had no choice but to practice hunched over, enduring immense suffering.
“Despite exercising twice daily, my physical condition deteriorated. I experienced constant pain; my back pain persisted, walking became increasingly difficult, wrinkles deepened on my face, my hair turned noticeably grayer, and I aged significantly.
“This severely hindered my efforts to explain Falun Dafa to the public and save people, leaving me deeply troubled: Why was my body deteriorating despite my persevering, enduring so much pain during the exercises? Where had I fallen short in adhering to the Fa?
“Finally, one day a month ago, seeing that I hadn’t awakened, Master reminded me with a thought while I was practicing the standing exercises: ‘Practicing with your head down and back bent disrupts the mechanism. You’ve fallen for the old forces’ tricks and are following the path they’ve laid out for you.’ I was utterly shocked.
“So that’s how it was. Bowing my head and bending my back during the exercises, with the movements not being precise, disrupted the mechanism. Of course, it fails to purify the body. It probably doesn’t even achieve the effect of physical exercise. How dangerous to continue this way!
“I used to think I was quite resilient for enduring excruciating pain to finish my exercises, but it turns out I was falling for the old forces’ tricks. Ever since, no matter how uncomfortable it gets during the exercises, I lift my head, straighten my back, and persevere through every second until completion.
“All the while, I encourage myself: I will walk the path arranged by Master. I absolutely refuse to fall for the old forces’ tricks. I will practice with my head held high and back straight.
“Master teaches us, “When it’s difficult to endure, you can endure it. When it’s impossible to do, you can do it.” (Lecture Nine, Zhuan Falun)
“At first, exercising with my head up and back straight was a real test—my back ached terribly! But I refused to fall for the old forces’ tricks. No matter how much it hurt, I wouldn’t retreat, bend my back, or lower my head.
“Since I corrected my exercise movements, my physical condition has changed remarkably—almost daily. Neighbors, relatives, and friends have all witnessed the wonder of Dafa! Sharing the truth and saving others has also become smoother. I am deeply grateful for Master’s compassionate guidance.”
After listening to Xu’s story, I couldn’t help but marvel at the miraculous and extraordinary nature of Dafa. It reminded me of an article I once read on Minghui titled “Amazing Things Happened When I Broke Through My Human Notions.”
The author, a fellow practitioner, suffered paralysis for thirteen years due to torture and persecution. Through Master’s blessings, she regained full mobility after practicing the standing exercises just once. As long as Dafa disciples steadfastly uphold righteous thoughts and walk the path arranged by Master, miracles can and do happen.
May fellow practitioners whose exercise movements are inaccurate become vigilant upon reading this account of an elderly practitioner’s experience and miraculous transformation. May they promptly correct their movements, refusing to follow the path laid out by the old forces—a path that tarnishes Dafa and hinders the salvation of others!
