(Minghui.org) Under the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) corrupt rule, it’s difficult for people to make a living—including Falun Dafa practitioners who are persecuted. Fortunately, our lives are arranged by Master, and his arrangements are the best. As long as we maintain righteous thoughts and act righteously, we can live a normal life and cultivate in China’s oppressive environment.
Rewarded for Treating the Buyer With Kindness
Many people in China are driven by profit and have insatiable desires. I am a Falun Dafa practitioner, and I often remind myself that I cannot behave like an ordinary person—I should follow the principles of the Fa. In 2013, my business was doing well. I took out a 700,000 yuan loan to buy a house and renovate it. Three years later, my business went downhill, and I was in debt for 1,070,000 yuan. I talked to my wife, and we decided to sell the house to pay off some debt. Luckily, housing prices doubled at that time. We sold the house, paid off the debt, and used the rest of the money to buy a place to live.
A young couple wanted to buy our house. They paid us a deposit of 30,000 yuan and paid a brokerage fee of 25,000 yuan to the realtor. They asked us to give them one month to pay the balance, so we signed the contract. But one month later, they backed out and wanted me to return their deposit. According to the contract, I wasn’t required to return it. But I am a Falun Dafa practitioner, and I should always be considerate of others. The young couple visited the house with a one-year-old child. I thought they must have encountered some difficulty and decided to back out. So I arranged to return their down payment in two phases. However, the realtor handled the matter according to the contract and did not return the realtor fees.
Three days later, on Christmas Day, a couple who were university professors came to see the property. They were happy with the house and quickly purchased it. I went from being 1.07 million yuan in debt to having 1.32 million yuan in cash savings. With that amount of money, we reorganized our life. If I hadn’t followed Dafa’s principles and put others first, and I hadn’t returned the young couple’s deposit, I wouldn’t have had this good fortune. I realized that because I followed Dafa’s standards Master helped me overcome this difficulty. Good fortune is something you can’t force; it’s something you can’t always expect. My old friend, who does not practice Falun Dafa, said I was rewarded for my good deed. This incident reflected the kind mindset of a Dafa practitioner. It was Dafa’s teachings that guided me.
Identifying Scams by Following Dafa’s Guidance
China’s economy is in recession and people struggle to make ends meet. Scammers are rampant and various pyramid schemes are packaged in sophisticated ways to deceive and mislead people. We are Dafa practitioners, and our conduct is guided by Dafa’s standards. When we follow the principles Master taught us, we won’t come in contact with, or participate in pyramid schemes. Thus, we would not be harmed by scams like P2P lending, blockchain, things on the internet, or high-return investment schemes.
A practitioner was persecuted by the CCP and illegally imprisoned for many years. After he was released, he worked hard at a hotel for several years, and just as things were settling down for him, he was lured by someone into an internet scam. As a result, he lost all his savings and was in debt for tens of thousands of yuan. While he traveled by train one day, he was framed by the CCP and illegally imprisoned again. I warned him several times to see through the scam and not be greedy. He seemed to have been bewitched by whatever was behind that scam and did not think clearly.
The day before yesterday, a woman wished me a happy New Year and said she wanted to visit me. I prepared some snacks and a truth-clarification video. I also placed a calendar which had the words “Falun Dafa is good” on the table.
She came with a man. The man talked a lot about his investment program, which was similar to a pyramid scheme. He showed me videos about it on his mobile phone. The woman said she invested with him, and her initial investment of 8,000 yuan had already grown to 50,000 yuan. Out of politeness, I did not directly refute him. He said his company’s headquarters was in Singapore and they had many investors from China. He then said his company prohibited involvement in politics and Falun Dafa; perhaps he saw “Falun Dafa is good” on my calendar. When he said this I realized it reflected the CCP’s stance.
We should view everything we encounter through the lens of Dafa and conduct ourselves according to Dafa’s principles. We should avoid doing things that are not aligned with Dafa. It’s important to see beyond the surface appearance and grasp the true essence of the situation, thus ensuring that we aren’t deceived by the old forces and we don’t fall into their trap.
Letting go of our human attachments is the best way to prevent disaster and overcome tribulations. Each human attachment that is not eliminated is the root cause of disasters and tribulations. I hope all Falu Dafa practitioners study the Fa well, take the Fa as their teacher, and walk their cultivation path well under the guidance of our Master.
