(Minghui.org) After I started cultivating Falun Dafa, I became healthy, and my whole family, including my husband, two daughters, and grandson, also benefited. We live together happily in the countryside. Dafa taught me why people come into this world and the meaning of life. I understand that people should follow the universal principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and become better than the average good person.
These days, people who grow crops and fruit, spray them with hormones and pesticides to boost their profits. During my 28 years of cultivation, I have never done this. Master Li teaches us to consider others first, so I knew I couldn’t harm people for profit. Although I made less profit than others, my heart was at peace. Some people mocked me, saying that I couldn’t change the world by myself. I simply replied, “Even if I can’t change anything, at least I don’t harm people.”
In 2001, a tomato buyer called Young came to our village with his team to buy tomatoes. I had three baskets of tomatoes at home/ Two were completely full, and one was not quite full. A young man on his team weighed the basket with the least tomatoes and bought the other two baskets at the same price, clearly trying to take advantage of me. I didn’t argue; instead, I offered to cook them a meal. They declined and left, leaving the payment on the bench.
After they left, I counted the money and realized that they had overpaid me by several dozen yuan. I rushed outside and saw their truck stopped at the bottom of the hill. I ran after them barefoot, with the money in my hand. The driver said to Young and his team, “Didn’t you pay her enough?” I told them that they had overpaid me. Young looked at his ledger and confirmed that they had indeed overpaid me several dozen yuan.
He said, “You are truly different. For years, whenever we overpaid people and asked them to return the money, they would never admit to the overpayment. Yet you chased us to give back the money.” I replied, “I practice Falun Dafa. My Master teaches us to be good people. I shouldn’t keep money that doesn’t belong to me.” They were shocked by my words and became silent, because the persecution of Falun Dafa was widespread back then.
Young couldn’t believe what I’d said. After I confirmed that I practice Falun Dafa, he told me that I shouldn’t. I asked him why and he mentioned the Tiananmen Square self-immolation incident and the reports of practitioners killing people. I explained to them that everything they’d heard was propaganda from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), intended to defame Falun Dafa and incite hatred. Then I explained the facts clearly and refuted the lies. They had never questioned the media reports before, but after I explained it, they all understood the truth.
Their truck was having trouble getting up the hill. I realized that Master had arranged this opportunity for them to wait so I could tell them the truth. Then they asked me to help them pull their truck, and we successfully pulled it to the top of the hill. When they thanked me, I told them to thank my Master.
Even though more than 20 years have passed since this incident, the truck driver still remembered me when we met again. He told people around him that I practiced Falun Dafa and ran a long way to return some overpaid money.
My brother is a team lead in our village. Last year, after attending a meeting, he told me that people still talked about this incident, because it was a key factor in our village receiving a model village award.
I’ve returned overpaid money for years, and every time it happened, it was what a practitioner is supposed to do. I hope that more Chinese people can truly learn what Falun Dafa is and no longer be deceived by the lies from the CCP.
