A witness reported seeing Ms. Wang Meirong, in her 60s, seized from her home on January 28. Her family said “everything is fine” and refused to disclose details, likely due to fear of retaliation from the authorities. Ms. Wang still has not returned home.

Ms. Xing Ni, around 60, was doing laundry after her father’s funeral on January 28, when five people showed up to arrest her. They were: Feng Xizhi from Fengjia Village, deputy chief Wang from the Lutou Police Station, and three others, including Wang Renchen, Wang Hengjun, and a woman whose name is unknown.

Deputy chief Wang asked if she still practiced Falun Gong. When she said she did, they confiscated her Falun Gong books and 50 yuan in banknotes with Falun Gong messages printed on the bills. They took her to the police station for questioning. Captain Guo Fudui from the Longkou City Police Department was also present. After Ms. Xing refused to answer their questions, secretary Shi Jianqiang from the Longkou City Police Department ordered her to be held in the Yantai City Detention Center. She was released on bail on February 27, 2026.

At the police station, a female officer searched Ms. Han and seized her key. The police used it to raid her home again, this time time taking her printer, laptop, music player, and other valuables. She was released after 9 p.m. that day. An officer showed up at her home on February 24 and ordered her to sign her bail release form. Only then did she realize that she had been put on bail.

A man in his 30s and a woman in her 50s knocked on Ms. Liu Yanrong’s door on the night of February 4. They claimed to be from the property management office and were there to check for water leaks.

Ms. Liu, in her 70s, let them in. They did not find any water leaks and left.

The next morning at around 6 a.m., someone knocked on her door, complaining about water leaking from Ms. Liu’s unit to her downstairs neighbor. As soon as she opened the door, four men and a woman rushed in and went straight to her bookshelf in the living room. They confiscated all of her Falun Gong books and other materials.

The aforementioned captain Guo was also present during Ms. Liu’s interrogation at the police station. He demanded to know how she organized groups to study the Falun Gong teachings in a private home. She said she didn’t do any such thing. Another officer produced several pictures and ordered her to identify anyone she knew. She replied she couldn’t see clearly. They released her on bail that evening.

Ms. Wang refused to answer questions and was released on bail around 3 p.m.

Other officers collected her palm prints and fingerprints against her will. They then tried to upload her biometric information to their computer but were unable to. Her nephew was called in to sign her bail release paperwork. She returned home after 6 p.m.

Harassment Cases

Mr. Guo Meixue finished serving two years in prison on February 27, 2026, only to be harassed on the phone on March 2 and 24.

In mid-March 2026, a police officer called the family of Ms. Yuan Yuqin, who completed a four-year term in 2023, demanding to know the license plate of their private car. The family was forced to reveal the information. Upon learning of what happened, Ms. Yuan went to the police station to condemn the police for invading her family’s privacy. The police eventually agreed to remove the license plate information from their database.

Ms. Fu Qiurong, who completed a three-year term in July 2022, spotted a police officer taking pictures of her home in mid-March 2026. She chased him to the police station and demanded to know what legal right he had to invade her privacy. He called captain Guo, who said the order came from the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

Ms. Fu replied that the referenced ministry was not a law-making body and that the Constitution protects her right to freedom of belief. Guo then instructed the police officer to send her away.
