(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners were invited to participate in the Picnic Day Parade held by the University of California (UC) Davis on April 18, 2026. Many people praised the Tian Guo Marching Band and learned about Falun Dafa.
Falun Dafa practitioners were invited to participate in the 112th Picnic Day Parade at UC Davis on April 18.
Since its inception in 1909, the Picnic Day Parade is one of the largest student-run activities in the nation. About seventy thousand students and local residents attend the event.
Ms. Zhang, a member of the Tian Guo Marching Band, said that Falun Dafa and its principles were warmly received by parade spectators.
As the Tian Guo Marching Band passed the stage, the host introduced them and explained that the band members practice Falun Dafa, a cultivation practice that is guided by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Many people who watched the parade said they were deeply touched by the practitioners’ powerful music and eye-catching costumes. Some said they appreciated the band’s outstanding performance, and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance resonated with them.

Professor Kellogg of UC Davis praised the Tian Guo Marching Band and said she agreed with the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She stressed that we needed more tolerance and forbearance in the world today. Her friend said he recorded the videos of the band’s performance so he could watch them again.

Joel from Chico, a parent of a UC Davis student, said the Tian Guo Marching Band was beautiful and top-notch. “I agree with Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance 100%. We need this more now than at any other time. These principles are extremely important. We need more Forbearance and more Compassion. I absolutely support it.”

Jackie said she appreciated the Tian Guo Marching Band’s core values, “I love these principles! Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are qualities everyone should have!” She thanked practitioners for bringing these values to people.
David enjoyed the music of the Tian Guo Marching Band.
Local resident David said the Tian Guo Marching Band had “perfect” and “gorgeous” costumes and music. He said the spiritual strength of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is most important in our turbulent and challenging times.
