(Minghui.org) May 13, 2026 is the 27th World Falun Dafa Day and the 34th anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction. Mayor John Ewing of Omaha, Nebraska, issued a proclamation, proclaiming May 13 as Falun Dafa Day in the city.

Proclamation from Mayor John Ewing of Omaha

The proclamation reads, “Since its public introduction by Mr. Li Hongzhi in 1992, the practice has spread to over 100 countries, helping millions of people around the world improve their physical health, mental well-being, and spiritual awareness.

“This year marks the 34th Anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public, a milestone celebrated globally by practitioners and supporters who recognize its positive impact on individuals and communities.

“Falun Dafa was introduced to the Omaha community in 2000, and for over two decades, local volunteers have dedicated themselves to providing free workshops, seminars, and group exercises at libraries, parks, and health expos for the benefit of our citizens.

“While practitioners in Omaha and across the United States enjoy the freedom to practice their beliefs, practitioners in China have faced a brutal campaign of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party since 1999, involving illegal detention, torture, and reported forced organ harvesting.

“The resilience and nonviolent response of Falun Dafa practitioners in the face of such adversity serve as a testament to the strength of the human spirit and commitment to the fundamental right of freedom of belief.

“By honoring World Falun Dafa Day, we affirm Omaha’s commitment to human rights and the values that foster a more harmonious and compassionate society.”
