Mayor Justin M. Bibb of Cleveland issued a proclamation to recognize World Falun Dafa Day on May 13, 2026.
The proclamation reads, “Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a peaceful spiritual practice rooted in the Buddhist tradition, incorporating meditation, gentle exercises, and teachings centered on the principles of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance.
“Since its introduction in 1992, it has been practiced by millions of people in over 100 countries. It was introduced in Ohio in 1996, and since that time, local volunteers have offered free instruction through workshops, classes, and group practice sessions held in libraries, parks, senior centers, and at community events. Practitioners have also actively participated in cultural and community activities throughout the state.
“I, Justin M. Bibb, the 58h Mayor of the City of Cleveland, do hereby recognize the positive contributions of local practitioners and affirm the value of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance within our community. “
The Ohio Senate Pays Tribute to Falun Dafa Association
The Ohio Senate honors World Falun Dafa Day.
The Senate states, “On behalf of the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, we are pleased to pay tribute to the Ohio Falun Dafa Association on its celebration of World Falun Dafa Day, May 13, 2026.
“World Falun Dafa Day was conceived as a way to raise awareness of this peaceful practice, and the Ohio Falun Dafa Association is to be commended for its efforts to organize events in observance of this annual event. Clearly, the organization has established itself as a fine ambassador, helping spread accurate information regarding Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, and educating the public on this important subject, and its exemplary work has set an outstanding example for other such groups throughout Ohio and beyond.
“The success of the Ohio Falun Dafa Association can be attributed to the vision and foresight of a host of innovative individuals, and all those who have supported its various endeavors in preparation for World Falun Dafa Day 2026 are to be applauded on their tremendous efforts. Indeed, these exemplary Ohioans have convincingly demonstrated how very much can be accomplished by a group of conscientious people with clear objectives and firm resolve, and it is through the work of citizens such as these that our state continues to be a pleasant place in which to live.”

Lee A. Gray, Mayor of the City of Pickerington, proclaims May 13, 2026, as Falun Dafa Day in the city.
The proclamation reads, “Since its introduction in the state of Ohio in 1996, local volunteers have provided free workshops, classes and group practice at various community venues, libraries, parks, senior centers and community events; and
“While practitioners in the United States are free to practice, Falun Dafa practitioners are still persecuted in China and have faced restrictions abroad, which have been noted by international human rights organizations; and
“On this 34th anniversary of its founding, it is important to recognize the ongoing legacy of commitment to truth and compassion by Fatun Dafa practitioners.”
