(Minghui.org) Practitioners held an event in Rennes, the capital city of Brittany, France, on May 16, 2026, to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day (May 13). Many people stopped to read the posters and talk with practitioners to learn how the practice benefits society.
Despite the huge, positive impact in improving mind and body, Falun Dafa has been suppressed by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999. Upon hearing about the mistreatment practitioners had been subjected to for their belief, passersby signed petitions urging an end to the CCP atrocities. Some said the tragedy reminded them of the genocide committed by the Nazis, and said that crimes such as forced organ harvesting by the CCP must stop.

Lawyer: Importance of Basic Rights
Former criminal defense lawyer Hervé Rouzaud Le Boeuf (Minghui.org)
Hervé Rouzaud Le Boeuf, a former criminal defense lawyer, stopped at the booth and read the materials. He felt bad when he learned how practitioners were being persecuted.
When he defended two Uyghurs, Le Boeuf learned how brutally the CCP treats minorities. He said the totalitarian CCP violates basic human rights and freedoms. He thanked practitioners for their efforts and signed a petition for the G7+7.
G7 includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the US. G7+7 also includes Argentina, Australia, India, Israel, Mexico, South Korea, and Taiwan.
People Sign Petitions
Pascal Nourry (Minghui.org)
Pascal Nourry was a driver for a high government official. He said communism ruined China’s wonderful, ancient culture, and the CCP deprived people of their freedoms, including the freedom of speech. He signed a petition and encouraged practitioners to continue their efforts.
People signed petitions to end the persecution.
After Andréa, a retired senior official, finished dining at a restaurant she stopped at the Falun Dafa booth. “I did not know something so horrible was happening in this world today,” she said. “Everyone should know about this and work together to stop these tragedies.” After signing a petition, she took some materials for her family members and friends, and thanked the practitioners for telling people about the genocide.
Some people said they knew the CCP mistreated people with brutality and lies, so that’s why they signed the petitions. A man from Tibet said his ethnic group was also persecuted in China, so signing this petition meant a lot to him.
Learning the Practice
Catrina had watched Shen Yun Performing Arts and bought a copy of Zhuan Falun, the main teachings of Falun Dafa. When she noticed the booth, she talked with practitioners and learned the exercises.
Catrina asked where the nearest group practice sites were, and said she planned to do the exercises with practitioners and learn more about Falun Dafa.
