(Minghui.org) Four cities in Ontario, Canada—Orangeville, Barrie, Cambridge, and Brighton—raised Falun Dafa Day flags in front of their respective city halls from May 6 to May 11, 2026.

This follows a series of flag-raising ceremonies held across Canada between late April and mid-May of this year—spanning from the border city of Amherstburg to Nanaimo near Vancouver. A total of seven cities marked World Falun Dafa Day on May 13. Notably, Members of Parliament (MP) and mayors personally presided over the ceremonies, commending Falun Dafa for bringing the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance to their local communities and honoring the practice for its contributions to promoting social freedom.

Connie Cody MP wrote, “I am pleased to send my regards and best wishes to Canadian practitioners of Falun Dafa as you celebrate our shared values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance.

“For over 30 years, Falun Dafa has spread the principles of benevolence and forbearance to the lives of millions. Falun Dafa also makes an impact in communities across the country through its many volunteer and charitable initiatives.

“Religious freedom and civil liberties are essential to any society, and today, we also celebrate those principles. Practitioners of Falun Dafa continue to be persecuted [by the CCP] around the world, including here in Canada. Not only is this a threat to our national sovereignty, but it is also an affront to basic human dignity.

“However, despite these attacks, which have taken place as long as Falun Dafa has existed, your community perseveres. Your commitment and faith are truly inspiring, and they are the reason Falun Dafa continues to this day.”

Brian Riddell, MPP, and his letter.

Brian Riddell MPP wrote, “As your Member of Provincial Parliament for Cambridge, I am honored to extend my greetings for the 34th Falun Dafa Day. We are fortunate to live in a diverse and vibrant community here in Ontario and across Canada, and Falun Dafa contributes meaningfully to that richness.

“While we are a diverse province and country, Falun Dafa teachings highlight values that bring people together. The principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance help us find common ground and strengthen our ability to live together in mutual respect and harmony.

“Your appreciation for the freedom, diversity, and support found in Canada is deeply valued and warmly reciprocated. Thank you for your continued commitment to promoting these shared values, especially at a time when they are being tested around the world.”
