(Minghui.org) A Houston City Council member, a Ford Bend County judge, and the mayor of Missouri City, Texas, sent letters and proclamations to the Southern USA Falun Dafa Association to extend their congratulations for the 2026 World Falun Dafa Day, May 13.
They commended Falun Dafa for bringing peace and understanding to the local community, as well as benefiting the whole world.

The certificate of recognition reads: “For three decades, Falun Dafa practitioners in Houston have contributed positively to the community through cultural outreach, wellness activities, civic participation, and efforts that promote peace, understanding, and mutual respect among all people.
“This recognition honors the dedication, resilience and peaceful example demonstrated by Falun Dafa practitioners in Houston and around the world through their continued commitment to compassion, freedom of belief, and community harmony.
“The Falun Dafa community continues to enrich the cultural fabric of Houston and serves as a meaningful example of service, discipline, and unity throughout our city.”

Ford Bend County Judge Daniel Wong wrote in his proclamation: “Practitioners in Ford Bend County have made significant contributions to our community by offering free meditation instruction and wellness workshops in our parks, libraries, and community centers, providing residents with accessible tools for stress reduction and mental clarity.
“The Southern USA Falun Dafa Association fosters cultural enrichment and civic engagement through volunteer-led initiatives that promote physical health and a more harmonious, connected society.”

“Now Therefore, I, Mayor Robin J Elackatt on behalf of the City Council and the citizens of Missouri City do hereby proclaim May 13, 2026, as World Falun Dafa Day in the City of Missouri City and encourage all residents to acknowledge the positive contributions of the Falun Dafa community.”
