(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners gathered on Réunion Island on April 24, 2026, at a scenic tourist district of the coastal city of Saint-Paul, to commemorate the 27th anniversary of Falun Dafa practitioners’ April 25 Peaceful Appeal in Beijing, and talk to people about Falun Dafa and the persecution in China.
Annaelle, a woman who lives on Réunion Island, listened attentively to a practitioner and signed a petition to condemn the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa, which has been going on for 27 years.
The appeal took place on April 25, 1999, when about 10,000 Falun Dafa practitioners stood outside the National Appeals Office in Beijing. They requested the government to release the 45 illegally arrested practitioners in Tianjin. The orderliness, patience, and resilience the practitioners displayed that day earned widespread praise from the international media. However, the CCP used it as an excuse to start the brutal persecution of Falun Dafa, which has continued to this day.
Through demonstrating the Falun Dafa’s five sets of exercises and exposing the CCP’s crimes in their persecution of Falun Dafa, the practitioners on Réunion Island told residents and tourists how they follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance to become better people. Many people expressed their support for Falun Dafa and signed the petition calling for an end to the CCP’s persecution.

Practitioners arrived at the event venue early in the morning to set up the exhibition boards and banners, then they demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises.
The photo exhibition that introduces Falun Dafa and exposes the brutal persecution by the CCP attracted the attention of many passersby. They talked to practitioners and some asked why the CCP persecutes a group of compassionate people. The practitioners explained what Falun Dafa is and why the CCP persecutes it.
When Ghislaine introduced the goodness of Falun Dafa and how the practitioners are still persisting in their faith despite the CCP’s persecution to a couple, the gentleman was deeply touched and gave the practitioners a thumbs up for remaining steadfast in their belief despite the persecution.
A group of young people wished to help end the persecution, and they all signed the petition to oppose the CCP’s persecution and the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting for profit.
