(Minghui.org) Located in the center of Mexico City, the Cuauhtémoc borough is Mexico’s historical, political, economic, and cultural center. Borough officials recently invited Falun Dafa practitioners to hold a public event in front of Alcaldía Cuauhtémoc (the borough government building) on May 23, to introduce the spiritual practice to local residents.
Attendees learned the exercises and heard about the benefits of following Falun Dafa’s guiding principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
Mr. Joaquin Melendez, Director of Social Development, and former federal deputy Ms. Verónica Juárez Piña, praised Falun Dafa’s principles and thanked practitioners for holding events to introduce Falun Dafa to the community over the years.

Practitioners from nearby cities in the states of Puebla and Tlaxcala joined local practitioners to demonstrate the Falun Dafa exercises.
Attendees also learned about the practitioners’ personal experiences, including how their physical and mental health improved through practicing Falun Dafa. Practitioners explained how, by looking inward, they cultivate self-awareness, put others first, and foster greater harmony in their families and in their everyday lives.

Practitioners explained the significance of the three principles of the practice and how to apply them in one’s daily life, as explained in Falun Dafa’s main book Zhuan Falun.
They performed on waist drums and did a dragon dance, to the delight of the audience.

They also distributed informational leaflets about Falun Dafa, including details about local practice sites in Mexico City, and taught people to make paper lotus flowers, a symbol of the peace and tranquility that one can achieve through cultivation.

Residents thanked practitioners for introducing them to Falun Dafa, and shared their impressions after learning the exercises. Many asked for more information about the practice and where the nearest exercise sites were.
