(Minghui.org) Although my parents never taught me to be a bad person, they never taught me to value virtue and be a good person. During my middle school years, I became increasingly selfish. I would eat without thinking of my parents, showed them less and less respect, and became more and more rebellious. Then one day, after reading a certain book, I suddenly awakened. I felt deep remorse for everything I had done from elementary school through middle school, and tears of regret flowed uncontrollably. This was the first time in my life that I shed tears from reflecting on my past actions. In my mind, like a movie playing, I recalled every wrong thing I had done and felt profound regret for the harm I had caused others.
What book could have such tremendous power? It was Falun Gong, an early text of Falun Dafa. This book taught me that only by conforming to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance can one be a truly good person. It taught me that the true meaning of life is to return to one’s original, true self. It taught me that practitioners must value virtue and ultimately reach the realm of selflessness and altruism—thinking of others before oneself. It also taught me much more. Afterward, I purchased Zhuan Falun and other Dafa books. Through continuously studying the Dafa books, I came to understand how I should conduct myself going forward and realized that Falun Dafa was what I had been searching for. After one or two years of reading the Dafa books, I gradually embarked on the path of cultivating Falun Dafa.
Once I truly began cultivating, I started with small things around me, always considering others first. In my university dormitory, when it was another classmate’s turn to fetch hot water but no one went, I would take the initiative to go. When it was someone else’s turn to sweep the floor but no one did it, I would pick up the broom and sweep. When the teacher came to class and no one had erased the blackboard, I would go up and erase it, reducing some of the burden on the teacher who had to stand while teaching. After I did this for a while, the classmates around me gradually changed. One by one, they began competing to fetch hot water, competing to sweep the floor, and competing to help the teacher erase the blackboard. This is truly the miraculous power of Dafa. Several classmates also borrowed Zhuan Falun from me to read. After July 20, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel persecuted me, the class lead and my classmates told them, “He is the best person in our class.”
It was Falun Dafa that changed me. It was Falun Dafa that taught me to value virtue and be a good person. Without cultivating in Dafa, I might have spent my entire life in a state of confusion.
When the CCP started persecuting Falun Dafa on July 20, 1999, state-run media flooded the airwaves with all kinds of fake news to slander Dafa. The various truth-clarification materials on the Minghui website enabled Dafa practitioners to see through the CCP’s various lies. And we gradually came to understand that the CCP had been lying and deceiving people ever since its founding.
From then on, I began clarifying the truth about Dafa to relatives, friends, colleagues, classmates, and people I encountered in society. I told them that the CCP’s news propaganda was all fabricated—the so-called “killing” and “self-immolation” were completely fake. When some people heard my analysis of the fake news, such as the staged self-immolation incident, where the eyebrows and hair weren’t burned when the person allegedly set themselves on fire, the plastic Sprite bottle remained intact after being in the alleged fire, that reporters entered the hospital room on the fourth day without wearing masks or isolation gowns, and that the little girl spoke clearly and even sang a children’s song in a clear voice just four days after supposedly being burned. After I told them this, they gradually realized that there were indeed problems and too many holes in the story.
Once, my family invited many relatives and friends to our home for a banquet. While they were eating lunch, I seized the time to hold up my laptop and show them the video analysis of the staged self-immolation from False Fire. When they saw the slow-motion footage of Liu Chunling being struck and killed, they stared with wide eyes in astonishment. During that lunch period, many of them, when confronted with CCTV’s fake self-immolation footage, gradually began to awaken and realize that it was the CCP that was slandering Falun Dafa. I also sang two songs from Shen Yun performances for some relatives and friends in the courtyard. At that moment, a light drizzle began to fall from the sky, as if washing away the CCP’s lies. In my heart, I was filled with a feeling of compassion, hoping they could awaken from the CCP’s lies and choose to be saved by Dafa.
In 2004, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published, shaking the entire world and delivering a final verdict on the CCP.
Like my fellow practitioners, I began urging people to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations—the Party, the Youth League, and Young Pioneers (commonly called the “three withdrawals”). I first urged relatives, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances to make the three withdrawals, then extended this to people I encountered in society, and I continue doing so to this day.
I remember one time I tried to persuade a new colleague (a Party member) to withdraw from the CCP. I said, “Since the CCP seized power in 1949, there have been endless political campaigns, and the number of Chinese compatriots persecuted to death exceeds 80 million.”
At that moment, he seemed as if possessed by an evil spirit and said, “Even if they persecute every single Chinese person to death, I still won’t withdraw.” I was stunned and didn’t know what to say. But I didn’t give up on him. I thought I shouldn’t be too hasty. I continued to treat him kindly as always.
One day, perhaps through an opportunity arranged by Master, I was playing the False Fire truth-clarification DVD for several colleagues in the business department office, and he watched it from beginning to end. He understood that the CCP’s news reports were all slander against Falun Dafa, and it had a great impact on him. When he saw the young foreigner at the end who went to Tiananmen Square to appeal and shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!” that shout seemed to dispel the haze in his mind, and he couldn’t help but loudly say, “Falun Dafa is good!”
Finally, when it was time to leave work, I said to him, “Let me help you withdraw from the Party, the Youth League, and Young Pioneers on the Epoch Times website overseas, using the alias so-and-so. Is that okay?” He agreed, and his attitude was resolute. I was happy for him in my heart—he had chosen a bright future.
There was also another new colleague. He listened as I told him about Dafa, and he took it all in. But as soon as I mentioned that the CCP had committed too many evil deeds and urged him to withdraw from the Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers, his expression suddenly changed. Holding his phone, he said, “If you say any more, I’ll report you.” To prevent him from committing a crime against a Dafa practitioner, I stopped talking about it. I thought I would try again another day.
Later, I thought of the Hidden Character Stone in Guizhou Province. One day, I ran into him at the company, and said, “A Hidden Character Stone appeared in Guizhou with six naturally formed characters—‘The Chinese Communist Party Will Perish.’ You can search for it yourself on Baidu (A Chinese search engine).”
He shook his head and said, “I don’t believe it.” I told him to search for it himself. He did and saw that it was true. He fell silent and stopped being confrontational.
I said, “The naturally formed characters on the stone say the CCP will perish. This is heaven’s will. The ancients said, ‘Those who follow heaven’s will prosper; those who go against it perish.’ Only by following heaven’s will and withdrawing from it can you avoid perishing along with it. I’m doing this for your own good. I hope you can withdraw from the Youth League and Young Pioneers to stay safe. When heaven destroys it in the future, it won’t destroy you, because you’ve declared your withdrawal and have nothing to do with it anymore. How about I help you withdraw using the alias so-and-so?” He agreed. He then started speaking to me more amicably, like a friend.
Over nearly 20 years, I have also encountered some relatives or acquaintances whom I had to persuade for several years before they would withdraw. Some took 10 years of persuasion, others took 20 years, and some still refuse to withdraw to this day. Every year or each time I encounter them, I want them to make the three withdrawals and be saved. It’s just that some people seem to be so deeply deceived by the CCP that they cannot extricate themselves. I hope they will ultimately be saved.
Finally, I wish that more and more people in the world can awaken, recognize the evil nature of the CCP, understand the facts about Falun Dafa, withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations as soon as possible, and choose a beautiful future for themselves.
