(Minghui.org) The annual Libertyville Days Festival was held from June 19 to 21, 2026, in Libertyville, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago. The theme of this year’s festival was Stars, Stripes, & Libertyville Nights. Juneteenth and Father’s Day fell on the same weekend, and the three-day festival drew crowds of people.
Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the festival this year as they have in previous years, with many people stopping at the Falun Dafa booth.

Practitioner Ms. Liu said, “There was heavy foot traffic. People passing by our booth were happy to stop and learn about Dafa. They asked for more information, and took flyers. Some expressed an interest in learning the exercises and said they would go to the group practice site on Sunday.”
Practitioners do the exercises every weekend at a park in Libertyville and teach Falun Dafa for free. “We received calls after the first day of the festival, with people wishing to confirm the address and time that we meet to do the exercises.”
A man and his wife said they heard about Falun Dafa during last year’s festival. They greeted the practitioners on the first day of the festival this year and asked for more information. They also signed the petition to request Illinois’ two Senators to co-sign Senate Bill S.4009—the Falun Gong and Victims of Forced Organ Harvesting Protection Act. On the third day of the festival, they stopped at the booth again and said they would follow developments of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. The woman accepted a Minghui International magazine and said they would continue to support practitioners.
Supporting the Senate Bill and Condemning the CCP’s Atrocity
“Many people asked about the CCP’s persecution and signed the petition to support the Senate bill,” said practitioner Ms. Yang. Many people said after learning about the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting, that it was horrible and that such atrocities against humanity must be stopped.”

Local resident Mike Roach said he learned about the CCP’s persecution by reading The Epoch Times. He talked with a practitioner and was stunned at the CCP’s forced organ harvesting. He condemned the CCP and signed the petition to support Senate Bill S.4009.
Monette and her friend Jessica passed by the booth and noticed the small origami lotus flowers. A practitioner told them about Falun Dafa and the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and also mentioned the CCP’s persecution. Monette agreed with Dafa’s principles and she and her friend signed the petition to support Senate Bill S.4009. Before leaving they thanked the practitioner for the information.
