(Minghui.org) Minghui.org previously reported on the abuse of a Fuyang City, Anhui Province, woman who is serving a five-year term for her faith in Falun Gong. As early as October 2024, Ms. Fan Wenfang had been beaten to the point of being unable to walk. Another report in November 2025 revealed that she was given unknown drugs, which resulted in her becoming confused, dazed, and unable to recognize people.
New information has emerged that Ms. Fan, in her 70s, was often not given any food in the first few years of her imprisonment (at least through 2025). Huang Ling, the then-head of the eleventh division, ordered that Ms. Fan be starved because she held firm to her faith. The guards and the inmates assigned to monitor her even dumped her food into the manure pit on purpose. She was so hungry that she scooped up the food from the manure pit.
After Wei Cai took over as the division head, she sent Ms. Fan to a hospital for a checkup and then ordered her to take psychiatric drugs to treat some “mental illnesses.” Ms. Fan was never shown her medical records. As she refused to take the drugs, Wei mixed the drugs into her food. She exhibited the symptoms described above shortly after.
Ms. Fan, a former obstetrician at the Wenfeng Community Hospital, was arrested in July 2022 and taken to the Fuyang City Women’s Detention Center. She was sentenced to five years at an unknown date and admitted to Anhui Province Women’s Prison.
Prior to her latest persecution, Ms. Fan was previously held at the local detention center multiple times and three times in a brainwashing center. She was also given three labor camp terms totaling about two years (between 2000 and 2002) and jailed twice for a total of 12 years (June 2003 to June 2010 and November 2013 to November 2018). She barely survived the torture while in custody. She lost all of her teeth during her first prison term as a result of frequent force-feeding.
