(Minghui.org) I have been coordinating with other practitioners to clarify the truth since the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa began. We sometimes shared information with people face to face, and other times we phoned people. I would like to share some of the many touching experiences we encountered over the past 20 years.
Predestined Police Officer Learns About Dafa
A Dafa practitioner and I were traveling to a city in a private minibus carrying about 20 people. We discussed how to approach and talk with the people on the bus about Dafa, and decided that I would start at the front row of the minibus, while she would start from the back.
I greeted people differently depending on their age. After speaking to five or six people, I noticed a gentleman whose attire didn’t resemble that of the average person. I was concerned that he might be difficult to talk with. Since it could influence others if he disagreed with me, I skipped him. By the time I met the other practitioner in the middle of the minibus, I had helped over 10 people quit the CCP. However, I thought I should not leave one person behind, and should tell this gentleman the truth about Dafa and the persecution. So I approached him, and asked, “Did you hear what I was talking about with the others?”
“Yes, I did,” he replied.
I was forthright in my reply, “You do not look like an ordinary person, so I was a little afraid, and did not speak to you earlier. Then I realized I should not be so selfish. Perhaps we are destined to meet here, so I must tell you the truth about Dafa.”
The man asked me if I knew who he was. After I admitted that I did not, he told me that he was a police officer, and the branch he was assigned to. I continued, “Police officers also have the right to know the truth, to ensure safety for themselves.”
“You really have a lot of nerve,” he said. “The Communist Party pays you, yet you dare to go against it. How many people can you get to quit the Party in one day?”
“Oh, I don’t randomly talk to everyone,” I replied smiling. “I talk to people who are predestined to know the truth.”
Someone next to us got off the bus, leaving an empty seat. He and I politely offered the seat to each other. Then someone else got off and emptied another seat, so we ended up sitting in two adjacent seats.
This was an opportunity, arranged by Master Li Hongzhi, for me to further clarify the truth to this man. As we continued chatting, the police officer asked me how long I had been practicing Dafa, and if I had been detained for it. I asked him if he thought I was a good person, and he told me that I appeared to be very kind.
I confirmed that I had been arrested and detained for practicing Dafa. He asked, “Why do you insist on continuing to practice?” I informed him about the various ailments I had previously suffered from, including gastric bleeding, that had been miraculously cured without medical treatment after I began practicing Falun Dafa.
He was curious, and asked, “Isn’t Falun Dafa’s principle Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance? Then why do you people get involved in petitioning the government?”
In response, I quoted Master’s words:
“Forbearance (ren) is not cowardice, much less is it resigning oneself to adversity.” (“Beyond What Can Be Forborne,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress II)
“When being treated unfairly, people should be allowed to speak--this is a human being’s most basic right.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. Fa Conference”)
He continued, “You know the practice is prohibited, that should be enough. Why do you insist on going out to petition the government, knowing full well the CCP will repress this action?”
I answered by giving an example, “You know perfectly well that your father is a good man. If he were being persecuted, could you as his child really stand by and not speak up to demand justice for him?”
He looked thoughtful and remarked, “That’s true!”
I then talked about my own cultivation, how Dafa has spread throughout the world, and why the CCP persecutes Dafa practitioners, and gave him some examples of how good is rewarded and evil receives retribution. I went on for about half an hour. He listened attentively, and I could tell he agreed, so I asked if he had heard of quitting the CCP. He gave a grunt of acknowledgment.
“If you joined any of the CCP’s organizations, and if you withdraw from them in your heart, gods will know and you will be blessed.” He admitted that he was a member of the CCP. I picked a pseudonym for him to use to quit, and he accepted.
The bus arrived at the stop for his work. Standing up, he said, “You said that so well. Could you come speak to the guys down at my station?”
“If you understood what I told you, please tell them. You, too, have performed a deed of immeasurable merit,” I said.
“Alright, then,” the man responded in agreement as he got off the bus.
The Law of the Universe
A few years back, members of our Fa study group were reading Zhuan Falun in the morning, Master’s recent lectures for an hour in the afternoon, and then telling people about Dafa on the phone. One afternoon, a practitioner informed us that two men were seen going from building to building tearing down our Dafa informational posters. “We cannot skirt around the problem,” I said. “Why don’t we stop them by telling them the truth?”
After sending forth righteous thoughts we discussed the best way to talk to these men. A practitioner and I approached them as they were spraying water on one of our posters that was glued to the wall. Another person was trying to remove the glue with a scraper tool. I stepped forward and requested that they not remove the poster, but they ignored me and kept doing it. The poster they were trying to scrape off was about live organ harvesting. A heart was still shown on the remaining part of the poster.
Pointing at the heart, I said, “Look at this bloody heart. The CCP has been engaged in harvesting Falun Dafa practitioners’ organs for profit. The CCP officials responsible for this, Zhou Yongkang, Wang Lijun, and Bo Xilai, all met with retribution.” I told them that Falun Dafa practitioners were persecuted and were victims of injustice. “They followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Falun Dafa has spread to more than 100 countries and regions around the world. At least 3,000 practitioners have died as a result of this persecution.”
I continued talking about the CCP’s various political movements, including the Cultural Revolution, resulting in the deaths of 80 million Chinese people—a figure exceeding the combined death toll of two world wars. I pointed out that the persecution of Falun Dafa was like another Cultural Revolution.
“Look at the case of Liu Chuanxin, the former Beijing Public Security Bureau chief who persecuted veteran cadres. After the Cultural Revolution ended and the veterans were rehabilitated, Liu committed suicide out of fear of punishment. Meanwhile, more than 700 police officers and military officials who participated in the persecution were taken to Yunnan and secretly executed, which was a typical example of the CCP discarding its tools once they had served their purpose. Dafa practitioners have risked their lives to tell the truth to the world. Yet for the sake of your own petty gains, you are covering up the truth.”
I saw the man who was scraping off the poster trembling. I asked, “Sir, which community are you from? How much are they paying you to do this? Don’t risk your life for a few dollars. A gentleman desires money, but he earns it honestly. You shouldn’t be so selfish. You may have elderly parents and young children to support, and you have to be responsible for your own life. Good deeds are rewarded and evil deeds receive punishment—that’s the law of the universe.” At this point, they stopped scraping. They just stood there, dazed and motionless.
I told them, “For your own good and safety, please don’t do such things anymore.” I then finished speaking and my fellow practitioner and I left the building. We sat a short distant away, watching what the men would do next. Just then, they came out of the building and slithered away, looking crestfallen. We didn’t see them go to any other buildings.
A month later, at a local market, I talked to a man who was shopping next to me. I showed him a Shen Yun DVD, and told him that it was a world-class performance representing traditional Chinese culture. I asked if he would like to have it, and he indicated that he would. He hadn’t heard of quitting the CCP, so I inquired if he had ever joined the Communist Party, Youth League, or Young Pioneers. “I joined only the Youth League,” he replied.
“How about sincerely quitting this organization from your heart?” The man agreed and I gave him a pseudonym to quit. I also encouraged him to remember what I had told him.
He said he would, and added sincerely, “My dear woman, I truly thank you!”
Why did this person look so familiar? Then I suddenly remembered. This was the man who was scrapping off the poster the other day! I was so grateful to Master Li for making this arrangement to meet him again!
Clarifying the Truth to Government Officials
Twelve years ago a local practitioner was arrested, and his family spent more than 100,000 yuan ($14,770), trying to get him released, but failed. While the practitioner was still detained, I called the head of the local 610 Office several times, to clarify the truth to him. My calls served as a powerful deterrent, but the family did not follow up due to fear. Eventually the practitioner was sentenced to prison.
The following year, during the Chinese New Year, I called the head of the 610 Office again. Practitioners sent righteous thoughts while I made the call. I wished the head a Happy New Year when he answered my call. He immediately asked for my full name.
I responded with an alias, saying, “My name is Hao Xinyu. [Xinyu means ‘new universe’]. Do you know what our Dafa practitioners’ family members are doing during this New Year holiday?” When I told him that our family was working overtime to earn money, he asked why.
I replied, “They need to pay back debts because your 610 Office extorted hundreds of thousands from practitioners’ families. So these families need to repay those debts. Because of this, they have been torn apart, and lives have been lost. Many Dafa practitioners are still being detained.”
I continued, “At least 3,000 practitioners have died as a result of the persecution, and they were all good people. Out of jealousy, Jiang Zemin [former CCP leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Dafa] tried to smear practitioners, and staged the Tiananmen Square self-immolation incident. Falun Dafa teaches Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and practitioners are not as portrayed on TV.”
I cautioned the head, “Once you take off the police uniform, you are just an ordinary citizen. Please don’t destroy your future for the sake of petty gains. In fact, this is not your fault. You did not know the truth. We failed to tell you the truth earlier. I don’t blame you.
“You have heard the truth today. It is Heaven’s Law that good is rewarded and evil is punished. If you commit further wrongdoing, you will be doing so with full knowledge of the consequences.” When I asked if he understood what I told him, he acknowledged that he did.
I sincerely conveyed my joy, “Since you now understand the truth, today will be a turning point in your life. I hope that in future jobs, you will stand on the side of justice. You will then earn immeasurable merit. Please remember ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’ I wish peace and safety for you and your entire family.”
“I truly appreciate you!” the head responded.
During that New Year holiday, I called several high-ranking officials, and told them about Dafa and the persecution. They all showed their gratitude for the call. I spoke at length with the director of a local justice office. He confirmed that he understood what I had told him. His wife, who was listening next to him, hurriedly chimed in, “Tell us more! Tell us more please!” That earnestness led me to sense the innate goodness of people who have been waiting to be saved by Dafa!
The Gratitude of Local Farmers
One year, practitioners put up a poster about Dafa on a display board. The next time we passed by that place, we found that the display board was gone, and about half a dozen farmers were sitting under the tree where the board was.
We greeted them and asked if they had heard of quitting the CCP to ensure their safety. Some answered that they had, while others said they had not. I then started to tell them why people should quit the Party, why so many disasters were occurring, how people could stay safe, and how Falun Dafa has spread throughout the world.
They fully agreed with us, except one person that remained silent. Then, someone spoke up, “He doesn’t understand. Just a few days ago, he tore down the information you posted.”
I turned to that person, “You did that because you really didn’t understand. Why did we post that information? Because the poster showed the truth of the persecution of Falun Dafa. Dafa is a blessing brought to people to help them. People who see the poster would understand the truth, and would embrace a great future. If you protected the poster, you would be blessed.”
He now understood, and exclaimed, “I’ll never do that again!”
We gave all the farmers some Dafa informational materials. As we were leaving, they waved goodbye, and one man said, “Thank you for bringing us the truth, even coming all this way in the sweltering heat!”
Over the years, I have not counted how many people I have clarified the truth to, or how many people I’ve helped quit the CCP. I am just so grateful to be able to help Master Li save these good people!
