(Minghui.org) Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Finland and Norway from July 4 to 6, 2026. Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) practitioners held peaceful protests near the Finnish Parliament Building, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Norwegian Prime Minister’s official residence. They called for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 27-year long persecution and the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting. Their activities caught the attention of mainstream media outlets in both countries and were praised by local people and tourists.

When Wang visited Norway on July 6, practitioners from Oslo protested near the Prime Minister’s official residence and demanded that the CCP end the persecution. They held banners, demonstrated the exercises, and distributed flyers to passersby.

When Wang’s motorcade reached the Prime Minister’s official residence, other protest groups also joined practitioners and shouted “Falun Dafa is good, Truth-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” and “Stop persecuting Falun Gong.” A reporter said their shouts could be heard at the press conference.
Mainstream Media Report on the Protests
Several media outlets in Finland and Norway covered the practitioners’ protests during Wang’s visit.
Finland’s largest public media organization and most influential mass media outlet—the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE)—posted photos of the protest with the caption, “Falun Gong practitioners protest in front of the Finnish Parliament building during the Chinese Foreign Minister’s visit. Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted in China for many years.”

The Finnish newspaper Iltalehti posted an article stating that the CCP regime attempted to influence European countries and referred to experts about the challenge to Europe.
In Norway, reporters from several media outlets went to the protest site and talked with practitioners before the press conference. Both the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) and TV2 mentioned practitioners’ protests in their reports that evening, and broadcast on-site footage and photographs.

People Encourage Practitioners
Many residents and tourists learned about Falun Gong while Wang visited Finland and Norway and they encouraged practitioners.
After listening to a practitioner explain how the CCP targets practitioners for forced organ harvesting, local residents Elisa and Erkki in Helsinki said they were appalled. Erkki said, “What you’re doing is courageous.” When they left they gave practitioners a thumbs-up.
Sirpa, a psychologist in Helsinki, wished the practitioners well. An elderly Finnish man said, “Please keep doing what you do.” A young man said, “Thank you for the information. I admire your dedication.”
Tourists from Canada, Brazil, Belgium, and the US also paused to learn about the issue and signed the petition during the protest in Finland. Vanessa and her husband from Brazil were curious about Falun Gong and asked why it is persecuted in China. After listening to a practitioner’s explanation, they expressed their sympathy for practitioners in China. They also signed the petition.
Maria and Seth, a couple from New York, paused to watch practitioners demonstrate the exercises in front of the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Maria said, “I wish I could stand here all day and watch you do the exercises.” After they left, Maria returned and said it was a truly wonderful and unforgettable encounter.
During the event in Norway, several local people said they wished practitioners’ voices could be heard by more people. One young man said, “I hope your efforts help stop the persecution. It is crazy that people are killed for practicing Falun Gong.”
A human rights lawyer said, “I’ve represented people from China and helped them with their applications for refugee status in Norway. I know what’s happening in China. You have the right to speak out here. Good luck!”
